Katie Pavlich Calls For Justice To Be Served, Wants AG Garland To Answer For Filthy Leaks
I think it's fair to say that the public needs the FBI to clean house and restore the public's faith in the department, if at all possible. Every few days there is some new leak that so clearly slants towards one party and the nonsense certainly needs to end. Fox News contributor Katie Pavlich says it's time for Attorney General Merrick Garland to man up and own this mess.
The leaks at the FBI have sent the media into a frenzy of conspiracies as the leaker offered an incomplete and bias peak at the Mar-a-Lago investigation. Seemingly just to offer the media just enough blood to stir up the waters ahead of the midterms. That is by design, make no mistake about that.
One man has his hand all over the Mar-a-Lago raid, AG Garland, and he needs to produce this leaker and reassure the public what is going on in the Department of Justice.
Pavlich exolained, "well, the big difference between the former Secretary of State and the president is that the president has the ability to declassify documents, the former Secretary of State does not. That certainly gives President Trump some leeway. The Department of Justice is leaking in public while they're losing in court. Merrick Garland, the attorney general, said that he wanted to be transparent about this process. He personally approved the warrant to raid Mar-a-Lago."
Later she concluded, "It seems like it's time for a public statement from him to say that his department should not be leaking and giving the public a very small sliver of information. Given the lack of trust that the American people have in the department and the FBI at this point."
Watch
A federal judge granted Trump's request for a Special Master to oversee the case but the DOJ and Trump legal team can't agree on who should pay for it.
Lawyers for Trump said they believe the so-called special master should review all documents seized by the FBI during its search last month of Mar-a-Lago, including records with classification markings, and filter out any that may be protected by claims of executive privilege.
Both sides have to select and agree on who will fill this role and Trump has offered to flip half of the bill. The DOJ, however, says they want Trump to pay for it all.
