Tucker Carlson's Event Sells Out in Alabama After Fox News Ouster
An event featuring former Fox News host Tucker Carlson has sold out in Oxford, Alabama. According to reports, the Oxford Performing Arts Center, where the event is being held, has sold out all 1,200 tickets.
The event is a fundraiser for Rainbow Omega, a non-profit organization that assists adults with developmental disabilities. Carlson had agreed to speak at the event before he was unceremoniously booted from Fox News last month. Despite this news, Carlson did not cancel his appearance at the fundraiser.
The event, which is titled the "Rainbow Omega Annual Fundraising Event – featuring Tucker Carlson," is completely sold out. All proceeds from the fundraiser will go to those in the Rainbow Omega network.
Rainbow Omega executive Tim Hodge said Carlson committed to helping all the way back to last year. "We actually booked him back last fall. The timing for [the news of his ouster] was unexpected by anybody."
Despite the unexpected turn of events, Hodge said Carlson was always committed to the event. "He's honored what he said he would do," Hodge said. "We're looking forward to him being here and being part of our fundraiser."
Carlson's appearance at the fundraiser has garnered national attention, given the controversy surrounding his departure from Fox News. Carlson had been a popular primetime host at the network before he was fired on April 24th. Since then, he has continued to make headlines and has remained a polarizing figure in the media.
It's clear that Carlson's supporters have not been deterred by the recent controversy, as evidenced by the sold-out event in Alabama. It will be interesting to see what Carlson has to say at the fundraiser and how his appearance will be received by those in attendance.
