CNN Segments Discusses Report From Arizona
For years, Democrats have operated under the assumption that cultural and demographic trends would permanently cement their dominance in American politics. But a new focus group of Biden-to-Trump voters in Arizona just shattered that illusion. Conducted by Engagious/Sago, this group of 11 voters—all of whom supported Joe Biden in 2020—expressed strong approval for Donald Trump’s efforts to shrink the size of government, with most also praising Elon Musk’s work at the Department of Government Efficiency.
CNN interviewed eleven Arizonans who voted for Biden in 2020 and Trump in 2024.
All eleven said they support the job President Trump has done in his first month in office.

Yet, it was one particular comment that seemed to rattle CNN host Dana Bash the most. A Black woman in the group, when asked what she liked about Trump’s presidency, responded bluntly:
"He got transgenders out of women's sports, that's number one."
For the liberal media, this was a moment of discomfort. They couldn’t attack her outright—Democrats have spent decades insisting that Black voters, particularly Black women, are their most loyal and morally superior voting bloc. But here she was, echoing a sentiment that mainstream America increasingly shares: that the Left’s radical social agenda has gone too far.
Democrats think attacking Trump for shrinking the government is good politics. It’s not. Most say the government has too much power. And now, new research finds that every swing voter approves of Trump’s actions and “most also support Elon Musk’s efforts to slash government.” https://t.co/1FPL1K2b97 pic.twitter.com/KDdqGJFPZw

And this is where Democrats are losing ground. Their leaders believe the defining issue of our time is the enforcement of progressive orthodoxy—whether on gender ideology, climate policy, or government expansion. Meanwhile, ordinary voters, including those who once supported Biden, are saying enough. They want a government that works, a country that is secure, and policies rooted in common sense.
This latest focus group underscores a shift that was already apparent in the 2024 election results, where Democratic support declined across all demographics. It’s not an accident—it’s a direct result of a party that has lost touch with the way real people think.

The reality is that reducing the size of government was never going to be an unpopular position. Americans have long been frustrated with Washington’s bloated bureaucracy, wasteful spending, and overreach. Trump and Musk’s efforts to cut through the excess have been met with approval—not just from traditional conservatives, but from swing voters who once believed the Democratic Party represented the middle class.
