Survey Provides Incite Following Trump Address
Oh, you knew this was going to happen. President Donald Trump walks into Congress, delivers a commanding joint address, lays out his vision for the country, and what does the Democratic side of the aisle do? They send in Al Green—not the legendary singer, mind you, but the Texas congressman best known for his dramatic flair and love of impeachment attempts—to make a spectacle of himself.
And boy, did he deliver.
MORE should happen to Rep. Al Green than just being censured by the House
He must be REMOVED from the Homeland Security and Financial Services Committees
He clearly can’t control himself, and Americans can’t trust him to be on these important committees.

Waving his cane in the air like he was leading a Revolutionary War fife-and-drum corps, Green interrupted Trump’s remarks multiple times, forcing Speaker Mike Johnson to do what needed to be done—remove him from the chamber. The House Sergeant at Arms escorted the Texas Democrat out, and just like that, the circus act was over.
The response from the American public? Overwhelming rejection. A CNN poll taken immediately after the speech found that a staggering 80% of viewers thought Green’s antics were inappropriate. And let’s be real—if even CNN’s audience thinks a Democrat went too far, that tells you everything.
198 Democrats just voted against censuring Rep. Al Green. Instead of supporting decorum, they defended his shameful and egregious behavior.

But of course, Green had to justify his outburst afterward. Outside the chamber, he ranted to NBC News about Trump’s budget, falsely claiming that Medicaid cuts were on the way and insisting that the president doesn’t have a mandate. Never mind that Trump just won re-election. Never mind that his speech was overwhelmingly well-received, with 76% approval according to a CBS News/YouGov poll. Green had a feeling, and that, apparently, was enough to justify a scene.
This moment wasn’t about policy—it was about theatrics. It was about yet another Democrat trying to make themselves the story instead of engaging in actual debate. But here’s the kicker: It backfired. Big time.
Instead of taking attention away from Trump, Green’s tantrum only reinforced the contrast between a president confidently laying out his agenda and an opposition party that seems more interested in outbursts than solutions.
Today, the House GOP censured me for speaking out for the American people against @POTUS’s plan to cut Medicaid. I accept the consequences of my actions, but I refuse to stay silent in the face of injustice. #WeShallOvercome pic.twitter.com/sVklRmPCJl
