A 2019 Hunter Biden Meeting Is Now Getting A Lot of Attention
A new report from Politico has shed light on Hunter Biden's involvement in the impeachment of former President Donald Trump stemming from the Ukraine scandal.
At the heart of the issue was Biden's business dealings with Ukrainian oligarchs and other foreign nationals, which were being investigated by the IRS.
The impeachment proceedings originated in 2019 when Trump was accused of withholding aid to Ukraine as leverage in forcing the production of information regarding alleged interference in the firing of Viktor Shokin, the Ukrainian prosecutor reportedly investigating Burisma—a gas company of which Hunter Biden was a board member.
Ultimately, Trump was acquitted by the Senate, but Politico has now revealed that Hunter Biden played a role in those trial proceedings.
According to one of the slides provided by Politico, Biden was sobering up and was making amends with the IRS. However, “[a]n unusual complication arose as his advisers were settling his tax bill—he was at the center of Trump's first impeachment.”
A January 26, 2020 email, cited by Politico, states that to settle the tax bill, Biden and his team would need “several hours to go through questions and find documents.”
Unearthed emails from Hunter Biden showed that he “explicitly told dissociate himself from the contents of the laptop because it could be noticed in unsealing documents and hurt Biden politically.”
The emails make it hard to believe the narrative that Trump was impeached for pursuing the same actions that then-Vice President Joe Biden had settled for in attempts to protect his son.
Hunter Biden's attorney George Mesires flatly denies the allegations: "There is no evidence of wrongdoing by either the Vice President or Hunter Biden and any suggestion otherwise is not based in fact.”
As to the emails and slides surrounding Biden's IRS issues, Mesires commented “Hunter and his legal advisors at the time did everything in their power to ensure he was in full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.”
Biden may have figured in Trump's impeachment proceeding, but his attorneys have made it unequivocally clear that there is “no evidence of wrongdoing” against him.
The computer and hard drive in question are currently in the possession of the Delaware State Police, FBI, and U.S. Attorney's office to ascertain if illegal activity may have taken place. Until that is determined, Hunter Biden's involvement in Trump's impeachment process remains mired in controversy.
🧵Politico has a story about Hunter Biden’s plea deal, showing how his pricey lawyers manipulated the DOJ by threatening to put the president on the witness stand in a criminal trial if his son was charged, precipitating a “Constitutional crisis”.
