A Unprepared Jean-Pierre Gets OWNED By Peter Doocy
Fox News's Peter Doocy proved that the new Press Sec isn't ready to answer questions. “Canada is making it impossible to buy, sell, transfer or import handguns anywhere in that country. Would President Biden ever consider a similar restriction on handguns here?” Doocy asked.
“We’ll leave it up to other countries to set their policy on gun ownership,” Jean-Pierre said. “The president has made his position clear that the United States needs to act, as I just laid out. He supports a ban on sales of assault weapons and high-capacity magazines and expanded background checks to keep guns out of dangerous hands. He does not support a ban on the sale of all handguns.”
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau introduced legislation to freeze the future sales and purchases of handguns and impose a “buy back” of military-style semi-automatic weapons Monday. The legislation further intends to limit all long gun magazines to hold no more than five rounds and ban the sale of “high-capacity” magazines. (RELATED: Rep. Kinzinger Says He Is ‘Open’ To An Assault Weapons Ban)
“Today, we’re proposing some of the strongest measures in Canadian history to keep guns out of our communities and build a safer future for everyone,” Trudeau said in the press release.
Canada passed legislation in May 2020 banning over 1,500 types of firearms after a mass shooting in Nova Scotia that left 23 people dead.
President Joe Biden urged the federal government to “stand up to the gun lobby” in response to the Robb Elementary School mass shooting that killed 19 children and 2 fourth-grade teachers.
“As a nation, we have to ask: When in God’s name are we going to stand up to the gun lobby?” Biden asked Tuesday. “When in God’s name will we do what we all know in our gut needs to be done?”
Yeah... Not buying it. Biden JUST called the .9mm handgun a high caliber' weapon that no one should own because they might 'blow a lung out'—No JOKE:
"There’s simply no rational basis for it in terms of self-protection, hunting," Biden claimed on Monday while comparing the difference in damage caused between a 9mm round and a .22-caliber round.
"And remember: the Constitution, Second Amendment are never absolute," the Biden continued.

Doocy continued to rip into Jean-Pierre ok major topics:
Doocy: "In some places in this country now, a gallon of gas costs more than people on the federal minimum wage are making in an hour. What does the White House want these people to do — to stop driving to work?"
Jean-Pierre: " Look, the President understands what it feels like. Deese just spoke — spoke about this. Brian Deese was just here and talked about how he understands what it means for people who are sitting at their kitchen table and see gas prices go up. He understands that feeling personally. Or seeing prices of the grocery store — of grocery — of groceries go up in the grocery store."
Ultimately, the press sec claimed that Biden knows what it's like to struggle and revealed that there is no real plan, "The President is doing everything that he can to make sure that we address this issue," Jean-Pierre added.
Doocy asked if Biden accepted any responsibility for inflation because, again, the White House blamed Putin:
Doocy: "as a reason for recent inflation. Do you guys think that any part of inflation this year is because of President Biden’s spending plans, or is it all Putin’s fault?"
Short answer? Jean-Pierre touted Biden's economy like it's actually working and blamed everything but the spending.
CBS's @EdOKeefe: "I want to just clarify...something [Biden] said...during his address at the Naval academy. [He] was born in 1942, graduated from the University of Delaware in 1965...He said he was appointed [there] in 1965? Was he?"

You would think that someone in Jean-Pierre's position would be better prepared to answer questions but it's pretty clear that this administration wants deflections and excuses, not explanations.
