Are We Looking At A Mitt Romney Presidential Run In 2024? Seems So...
I think that it's s fair assumption that Utah Senator (R?) Mitt Romney plans to make another run at the presidency in the near future. If that's not the case, then the so-called 'Republican' really has lost any fabric of reality he previously might have possessed. During a lengthy Twitter post, Romney ripped into Democrats and President Trump for engaging in 'mean-spirited' attacks but praised former vice president Joe Biden saying that he "refuses to stoop as low".
Clearly, Romney missed the debate between President Trump and Biden where the former vp told the President of the United States to 'shut up' repeatedly while calling the President 'stupid'...
In an awkward statement, he released on Tuesday Romney expressed his concern for the current state of politics. He bashed the President for ripping into House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Biden.
“I have stayed quiet with the approach of the election. But I’m troubled by our politics, as it has moved away from spirited debate to a vile, vituperative, hate-filled morass that is unbecoming of any free nation – let alone the birthplace of modern democracy,” he wrote. “The president calls the Democrat vice-presidential candidate ‘a monster’; he repeatedly labels the speaker of the house ‘crazy’; he calls for the Justice Department to put the prior president in jail; he attacks the governor of Michigan on the very day a plot is discovered to kidnap her.”
Romney then tore into Democrats for similar attacks while sparing Biden — who also referred to a voter as a “lying dog-faced pony soldier” — of this critique.
“Democrats launch blistering attacks of their own – though their presidential nominee refuses to stoop as low as others,” lamented Romney. “Pelosi tears up the president’s State of the Union speech on national television. Keith Oberman called the president a ‘terrorist.’ Media on the left and right amplify all of it.”
Romney goes on to claim that their decision will create violent fringe groups:
“The rabid attacks kindle the conspiracy mongers and the haters who take the small and predictable step from intemperate word to dangerous action,” he argued. “The world is watching America with abject war; more consequentially, our children are watching. Many Americans are frightening for her own country – so divided, so angry, so mean, so violent.”
“It is time to lower the heat. Leaders must tone it down. Leaders from the top and leaders of all stripes: parents, bosses, reporters, columnists, professors, union chiefs, everyone. The consequence of the crescendo of anger leads to a very bad place. No sane person can want that,” he concluded.

While I agree that the political polarization has reached a fever-pitch over the last few decades, I have to call this what it is; Romney trying to seem like he's 'for the people'. It's a political move that ignores the outrage of the American people. Those 'fringe' groups that Romney 'foresees' in the future are burning cities to the ground as the left targets the police force and push for a lawless America.
