Attempted Deal In Libya Tidal Waves Over Hunter Biden
Hunter Biden, the son of now-President Joe Biden, allegedly requested an annual retainer of $2 million for access to then-Vice President Biden in order to help recover billions in Libyan assets frozen by the Obama administration.
In previously unreported emails unearthed by Insider, it appears that Hunter "requested an annual retainer of $2 million" to leverage his father's role as Vice President to acquire political power and financial gain.
The emails were sent by business contacts of Hunter Biden, including Sam Jauhari, a Democratic donor, and Sheikh Mohammed al-Rahbani, another Obama campaign donor. In one email sent on January 28, 2015, Jauhari wrote that Hunter "wants to hire his own people - it can be a close circle of people for confidentiality. His dad is deciding whether to run or not. His positives are he is Chairman of the UN World Food Program, son of #2 who has a Libya file, access to State, Treasury, business partner SofS [Secretary of State] J. [John] Forbes K [Kerry] son and since he travels with dad he is connected everywhere in Europe and Asia where M. Q. [Muammar Qaddafi] and LIA [Libya Investment Authority] had money frozen."
However, his request was met with hesitance. Jauhari noted Hunter's "negatives" in the email, as he was revealed to be an alcoholic and a drug addict who had been "kicked [out] of U.S. Army for cocaine, chasing low-class hookers, constantly needs money-liquidity problems and many more headaches."
The emails suggest that Hunter attempted to use his proximity and access to then-Vice President Biden for personal business to make a profit. Another email sent by Jauhari and al-Rahbani said the Biden team had requested “for them to get involved, the team (lobbyists, lawyers, and PR) would need to be a small group of folks they have a tight relationship with. They do not want a large group involved and they only want people with whom they have a close relationship due to the sensitivities surrounding their involvement.”
It appears that the deal was never consummated. However, the information indicates that the "stock that was put in [Hunter] Biden's political connections — particularly his relationship with his father, who was vice president at the time," is troubling and raises prominent questions about what Hunter has been up to while traveling aboard Air Force One with now-President Joe Biden.
This revelation brings into serious question the association between the Biden family, a powerful political family, and the potential exploitation of power by Hunter Biden. With already troubling reports of lobbying and other improprieties related to the Biden family, this latest development only further casts a shadow of doubt over the integrity and propriety of the Biden family and their political affiliations.
The American people deserve to have their questions answered. Now more than ever, it is evident why a full investigation into potential corruption by the Biden family is necessary. All forms of public corruption must be exposed to the full extent of the law, for the protection of American citizens and their democracy.
