Biden Government Gone Wild: Trump Supporter Faces 10 Years In Prison For Posting Meme
I wish I was joking but according to reports Douglass Mackey (AKA “Ricky Vaughn”, his handle on Twitter) has had his account suspended for years now faces 10 years. Let me explain, Mackey memes online that Hillary Clinton supporters could send in their vote via text- back in 2016 when she was running for president of the United States.
Dems are claiming that Mackey conspired to “injure, oppress, threaten and intimidate persons in the free exercise of a right and privilege secured to them by the Constitution.” There is absolutely no proof that Clinton supporters believed this trolling meme but that isn't stopping prosecutors from seeking 10-years of Mackey's life because foolish people may or may not have believed a meme they read on the internet?
Holy new world order...
The New York Times has more details about the case:
"Federal prosecutors accused Douglass Mackey, 31, of coordinating with co-conspirators to spread memes on Twitter falsely claiming that Hillary Clinton’s supporters could vote by sending a text message to a specific phone number… As a result of the misinformation campaign, prosecutors said, at least 4,900 unique phone numbers texted the number in a futile effort to cast votes for Mrs. Clinton… Their effort to misinform voters began after the group saw a similar campaign intended to deceive voters in the 2016 referendum in Britain on whether to leave the European Union, also known as Brexit, according to the complaint.
Mr. Mackey and his associates created their own version, sharing photos that urged Mrs. Clinton’s supporters to vote for her on Election Day using a hashtag on Twitter or Facebook. To make the images look more legitimate, they affixed the logo of her campaign and linked to her website.
Some of their memes appeared to target Black and Latino voters. One image had a Black woman standing in front of a sign supporting Mrs. Clinton, telling people to vote for Mrs. Clinton by texting a specific number. Mr. Mackey shared a similar image written in Spanish, prosecutors said."
I would say that prosecuting Mackey leaves hundreds of thousands of liberals open for prosecution based on the same claim. How many misinforming memes have you seen over the last 4 years- like ones calling Trump a Nazi? I would like to say that but let's be real, we are living in a double-standard partisan world where none of those people would ever face similar charges.
Nor should they, because this is just stupid.
Mackey's shouldn't be facing 10 years for a meme, but here we are...
Smack dab in the middle of Joe Biden's new government. Where they pick back up on 4-year-old grudges just two weeks into the new administration to avenge Clinton's 2016 loss against Trump.
