Biden Targets Lawful Gun-Owners With FBI Data Base: Jim Jordan Responds
The Biden administration's targeting of lawful gun owners seems almost retaliatory after his 'Build Back Better' bill official took its last breath and died on the Senate floor last month. The administration had huge plans for the 'BBB" bill that included massive taxpayer-funded programs that would have cost American's financial hardship for generations.
So it's hard to look at the recent release of details that the Biden administration collected against law-abiding gun owners and not think that it was punishment for his failed bill.
Ohio Republican Rep. Jim Jordan spoke on the Laura Ingraham's show Monday saying, "This is frightening. You’ve got the FBI going after parents; you’ve got the DOJ [Department of Justice] setting up a domestic terrorism unit and now we find out that the ATF [Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives] are going after law-abiding gun owners."
Jordan continued, "I mean, I think about this: Hillary Clinton destroyed 30,000 emails while she was under investigation and now every single gun purchase by a law-abiding American is being preserved. So what? That the federal government can set up a national database? This is scary stuff…"
The ATF disclosed to lawmakers that it manages a database of 920,664,765 firearm purchase records, including both digital and hard copy versions of these transactions. When a licensed gun store goes out of business, its private records detailing gun transactions become ATF property and are stored at a federal site in West Virginia. The practice has contributed to the fears of gun advocacy groups and Second Amendment champions in Congress that the federal government is creating a national database of gun owners, which violates longstanding federal statutes.
"What they’ve done with our First Amendment rights and now what they’re doing to our Second Amendment liberties, Jordan continued. "All from one administration, all in one single year. Um, so yeah, there are a number of us who are concerned about this and this is why we wrote the letter. And, frankly, we didn’t realize that it was quite this number of purchases over the past 20-some years that the federal government is now compiling."
Watch
The Biden administration has suffered some serious losses here lately. Between his failed infrastructure bill and their ever-dying push to normalize Critical Race Theory in the classrooms—Both of which, Biden involved the FBI in. It's hard not to look at the anti-second amendment move and not think he's weaponizing the FBI against the American people.
WHat do you think? Let me know.
