Brzezinski Comments On Visit
It’s hard to know what’s more embarrassing: Mika Brzezinski’s clumsy attempts to justify her meeting with President-elect Donald Trump, or the sheer desperation behind it.
The co-host of Morning Joe seems to be tripping over herself to placate a left-leaning audience still seething that she and her husband, Joe Scarborough, dared to step foot into Mar-a-Lago. Let’s be clear—this wasn’t some noble act of journalistic courage.
This was a political theater, pure and simple, with Brzezinski trying to spin the visit into something resembling a public service while clinging to her credibility with the left.
The outrage from both sides isn’t unwarranted. Liberals, predictably, are furious that Brzezinski and Scarborough would grant Trump any legitimacy, especially after spending years comparing him to history’s worst dictators.
Conservatives, on the other hand, are scratching their heads, wondering why Trump would even entertain these two after their relentless attacks. After all, this is the same duo that gleefully mocked him on national television, likened him to a tyrant, and accused him of every sin under the sun. And yet, there they were, sitting down for a chat with the man they vilified, hoping to “reopen lines of communication.”
Brzezinski’s explanations only add to the absurdity. She paints herself as a martyr, claiming it’s her duty to speak with those who might “disagree” with her, even if they’ve personally hurt her feelings. The irony is rich.
This is the same media elite that gleefully shuts down dissenting voices whenever it suits their narrative. Now, we’re supposed to applaud her for braving a conversation with someone who tweeted about her facelift years ago? Spare us.
Her justification that “people are scared” comes off as a weak attempt to validate the meeting. Brzezinski rattles off issues like abortion and Trump’s rhetoric as if these are new developments that require her immediate intervention.
In reality, this is a classic case of a media personality trying to save face with a disillusioned audience while simultaneously angling for relevance in Trump’s orbit. Her admission that she would “never turn down an opportunity to gain insider information” is perhaps the most honest thing she’s said. Translation: This is less about bridging divides and more about staying in the game.
