Colorado Senator Asks Tulsi Gabbard Some Tough Questions
Well, folks, if you were expecting a serious, substantive debate at Tulsi Gabbard’s confirmation hearing for Director of National Intelligence, you were probably sorely disappointed. But if you were hoping for a full-on political theater performance, complete with grandstanding, shrieking, and some truly unhinged behavior from Senate Democrats—well, then you got your money’s worth.
From the moment Gabbard took her seat, she made it clear she wasn’t going to dance around the uncomfortable truths that Washington would rather ignore. She came out swinging in her opening statement, tearing into the Biden administration’s reliance on “faulty or weaponized intelligence,” highlighting everything from the Russia collusion hoax to the infamous Hunter Biden laptop letter signed by 51 former intel officials. It was a direct indictment of the way intelligence agencies have been used and abused in recent years, and let’s just say the Democrats on the panel didn’t take it well.
WHAT IS HAPPENING??? Senator Michael Bennet asked Tulsi Gabbard a question, and when she opened her mouth to answer, he immediately interrupted her and started SCREAMING.

And that’s the real issue here. These hearings aren’t about vetting a nominee or actually listening to what they have to say. They’re about bluster, viral clips, and making sure the fundraising emails practically write themselves. Did anyone truly expect Adam Schiff, the man who spent years peddling a conspiracy theory about Trump and Russia, to suddenly sit down and have a good-faith discussion with someone like Gabbard? Of course not.
But if Schiff’s usual antics were predictable, it was Colorado’s Michael Bennet who came out of nowhere to steal the show as the committee’s most unhinged Democrat. Bennet decided to make the hearing all about Edward Snowden—yes, the same Snowden whose leaks exposed massive government surveillance on Americans. He wanted to force Gabbard to denounce Snowden as a "traitor," but instead of letting her answer, he just kept interrupting, yelling, and working himself into a full meltdown.
“This is when the rubber hits the road!” Bennet screeched at Gabbard at one point. “This is not even a moment for social media!”

Which, of course, meant it was absolutely a moment for social media. Because no matter what these senators claim, their goal isn’t to get answers—it’s to generate clips that will be shared by their supporters, preferably with dramatic captions like “Watch Senator Bennet DESTROY Tulsi Gabbard.”
But let’s get real. Regardless of what anyone thinks about Gabbard’s past statements on Snowden, this wasn’t a debate—it was a hit job. If Bennet actually wanted to hear her views, he would have let her answer instead of barking over her every time she tried to speak. What we got instead was an embarrassing, unserious spectacle from a guy who sounded more like a deranged HOA board member on a power trip than a sitting U.S. senator.
And that’s the thing—this was supposed to be an opportunity to hear from the next Director of National Intelligence. We’re talking about one of the most critical roles in government, overseeing the agencies responsible for counterterrorism, cybersecurity, and national security threats. But instead of asking serious questions about her vision for the intelligence community, or how she plans to rebuild public trust in these agencies, Democrats turned it into a bizarre loyalty test on Snowden.
