Dad Arrested, Humiliated Over Mask Mandates Finally Sees His Day In Court
Tyrannical mask mandates forced a father in New York out of work and in court as he was looking at jail time after attending his child's game without a mask. The courts ruled in his favor and now the shoe is on the other foot as he pushes forward with plans to sue.
DailyWire explained:
"A judge cleared a father from Rochester, New York, who was arrested and charged with criminal trespassing last spring for not wearing a mask at this son’s outdoor baseball game while he was social distancing.
Chad Hummel, an attorney, was facing up to 90 days in jail and professional licensing consequences; he was acquitted last week after a four-hour bench trial before Judge Joseph J. Valentino.
Hummel plans to sue the district over the incident and its decision to ban the father from district property, which threatened to keep Hummel from his son’s graduation ceremony.
“Mr. Hummel is pleased with the verdict and he is thankful for the Court‘s thoughtful legal Decision,” a press release sent to The Daily Wire from Mr. Hummel said."
According to USNews, a Southern California woman was not so lucky. She was charged for not wearing a mask in the grocery store. Which makes me wonder if she can perhaps now have her case heard in civil court since the 'science' abruptly changed?
The deets on her case:
"The jury found Marianne Campbell Smith guilty on Wednesday and Orange County Superior Court Judge John Zitny sentenced her to 40 hours of community service, a year of informal probation, and a $200 fine, the Orange County Register reported.
Smith, 57, was arrested on Aug. 15, 2020, at Mother’s Market in the city of Costa Mesa, where an anti-mask protest against California's mask mandate to prevent the spread of the coronavirus was happening nearby."
Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer issued the following statement before sentencing:
“The defendant wanted to make this about masks and freedom,” Spitzer said. “This trial was about a private business and workers just trying to comply with health orders. Instead, she bullied her way around the store and yelled at masked elderly shoppers that they were part of a government conspiracy.”
Mandates around the country are coming down but some schools continue to push for them. A mask-wearing mandate will continue for at least another month in a Wyoming school district where a student who wouldn’t wear a mask got arrested for allegedly refusing to leave her high school.
