Danica Patrick Comments On Trump
Danica Patrick, the trailblazing former NASCAR and IndyCar driver, recently made waves by confirming her plans to vote for the first time in a presidential election—and she's throwing her support behind Donald Trump. During an appearance on Jesse Watters Primetime, Patrick explained why she’s ready to head to the polls in 2024 and why she feels Trump is the "reasonable choice" for America.
Patrick admitted that until now, she had never participated in a presidential election. “It’s not something I’m proud of,” she said, acknowledging that racing had consumed her focus for years. But in 2024, she’s stepping up to vote, and Trump’s candidacy is the reason. “It feels like voting for Donald Trump is like the vote of reason. It’s like the rational, reasonable choice,” she told Watters.
One of the issues that drew Patrick to Trump’s campaign is the controversy surrounding his slogan, "Make America Great Again." Patrick expressed confusion about why "MAGA" has been turned into an insult, noting that its message is one of national pride, something she deeply resonates with.
"What this country could be if he gets into office... I feel like it could not only be to make America great again but make America greater than it's ever been."

Patrick also touched on the gender divide she’s observed when it comes to Trump supporters, especially among women. She believes many women are put off by Trump’s personality, saying, “That’s the most common answer you hear from people: ‘I just can’t vote for him.’” But for Patrick, that’s not a good enough reason to turn away from a candidate. “You don’t have to go to dinner with him,” she quipped, adding, “You just have to like the country that you live in.”
In her conversation with Watters, Patrick also praised Trump’s sense of humor and his ability to connect with everyday people, referencing a recent visit he made to a Pennsylvania McDonald's. She described Trump as “a man amongst the people,” and emphasized that his authenticity is a quality she finds rare in today’s political landscape.
“That’s not just something you see from the other side,” she remarked, contrasting Trump’s off-the-cuff style with the scripted nature of other candidates.
Patrick’s journey toward political engagement has been a gradual one. She shared that she began paying more attention to the news earlier this year, and attending events like America Fest in Phoenix last December reignited her love for her country. The speakers and the patriotic atmosphere left a lasting impression on her, leading to her decision to vote for Trump in the upcoming election. Patrick even took on a more active role recently, moderating a Q&A with Trump’s running mate, JD Vance, in Greensboro, North Carolina.
In her interview, Patrick expressed optimism about what Trump could achieve if elected in 2024. She sees a bright future for the country under his leadership, saying, “I feel like most of all, though, what this country could be if he gets into office... it can not only make America great again, but make America greater than it’s ever been.”
