Dem Candidate Responds After She Tried To Score 'Dope Boy Money' To Fund Her Campaign
South Carolina Democratic state Rep. Krystle Matthews might own the bonehead of the year award after leaked audio showed her beginning an inmate for drug money to fund her campaign. Project Veritas leaked the audio but it was Matthew's idiotic decision to discuss her criminal activity on a recorded prison line.
“I don’t care about no dope money, give me that dope boy money,” Matthews is identified as saying, according to the audio. “Where the duffle bag boys?”
She also suggested in the call that her campaign would keep that so-called 'dope money' secret.
“Get you — find me somebody from your family that don’t even know you donating to my campaign and put that (expletive) under they names,” she said at one point.

She tried to defend her call, but what's to defend? She begged an inmate to help her score drug money for her campaign. That's as low as it gets, I think.
Matthews argued that the audio was both fake and true, “It should also not be lost on anyone that this doctored audio from February, leaking this close to the runoff, is nothing more than a political hit job,” Matthews said.
In the recorded call, Matthews discusses several things, including using drug money to fund political campaigns.
“This, however, was a private call that was between two Black adults. Nothing I said was untrue and everything I said are also things that I’ve already talked about throughout my campaign,” Matthews said. “I don’t run from anything and anyone who knows me knows that I will face things head-on.”
