Dem's Nutty Professor Testifies That Pro-Life Is Pro-Slavery [Video]
It’s outrageous that in 2023 someone would compare saving the life of an unborn baby to slavery. During a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Wednesday, Prof. Michele Goodwin of UC Irvine made the absurd comparison of anti-abortion laws to “American slavery” and “Jim Crow.”
In a shocking statement, Prof. Goodwin said, “The state of Mississippi has notoriously been a death sentence for black women dating back to the time of slavery, through Jim Crow into the present.” She went on to say, “If we don’t thread that needle together, then there’s a lot that we are missing…Mississippi is one of the deadliest places not just in the country to be pregnant, but one of the deadliest places in all of the industrialized world to be pregnant.”
It’s beyond offensive to suggest that saving the life of a child – a child that is innocent and blameless – could in any way be linked to the horrific cruelty of slavery. As Senator Mazie Hirono said in response to Prof. Goodwin’s statement, “There was a time when women did not own their own bodies, and that is exactly where we are today as far as I’m concerned.”
This is a perfect example of how the pro-abortion movement has gone too far. They’re so desperate to make their point that they’re willing to invoke the memory of slavery to do it. But comparing abortion to slavery does nothing to help the cause – it only serves to trivialize the suffering of millions of people who were enslaved in the US.
The truth is, abortion is not slavery – it’s the killing of an innocent life. It’s heartbreaking to think that someone would suggest that killing an unborn baby is in any way comparable to the inhumane treatment of slaves. It’s time to recognize the truth and protect babies in the womb. No one should be allowed to compare the death of an unborn child to the tragedy of American slavery.
