Disgusting: CNN Thinks America Needs To See Raw Footage Of Trump Supporter's Death
CNN's worst hosts, Don Lemon and Chris Cuomo debated on air that they should be allowed to show viewers the death of Ashli Babbitt. So Americans can watch her bleed to death? They attempted to disguise this sick suggestion as some warped form of caring because Americans have become 'desensitized'. Babbitt, an unarmed Air Force veteran from the San Diego area was shot dead during the protest at the Capitol Wednesday after attempting to climb through a broken window leading to the House floor.
The two played the clip of Babbitt's final moments leading up to her death and cut the video just short of the fatal shot that took her life:
Cuomo snaked, "All right. So, you saw what we did there, right? We froze the video to save you the aftermath. I have to be honest with you. This is a discretion call, editorially, that we make to kind of insulate you from the reality of violence. I’ve always thought it was a mistake."
“I think we should show it,” Lemon morbidly chimed in.
The conversation took an even more bizarre turn when Cuomo cried about not being able to show dead bodies while covering the Iraq war. He claimed that without the carnage viewers lost interest. This just sounded more like Cuomo fretting over his views and how his views would skyrocket if he could show raw footage of violent deaths.
Cuomo: I think it's a mistake at war. I remember covering the Iraq War and being over there. And you guys lost interest and you didn't want to see dead bodies, anymore. And I think, that when you get numb to it, you start to forget the significance. It matters that she was taken out there, today. It didn't have to happen. It should have never happened. None of this should be happening.
Lemon barked in that the network allowed them to show the deaths of black men and women. Arguing that viewers needed to see the horrific death of a Trump supporter... because, you know, they 'care'.
Lemon agreed, “So, I think you are absolutely right. We should show that, to show how horrible these insurrectionists. The -- the horror of their actions, today,” he demanded.
“The reason that we don't show it is actually the opposite of why we should. Because we're not in a place where you're sensitive. We're insensitive. That's the problem,” Cuomo added.
Lemon then went on a mini-rant of the deaths CNN has allowed to air, "We showed George Floyd losing his life on camera. We show a lot of people who are killed by police, mostly black people, black men, being killed on camera. We should show that woman being killed on camera, as well. I'm not sure -- listen. I don't make the decisions around here, as to what -- there is no difference. A life being lost is a life being lost, regardless of who it is. And in what situation."
Lemon added, "So, I think you are absolutely right. We should show that, to show how horrible these insurrectionists. The -- the horror of their actions, today."
Cuomo concluded, "The reason that we don't show it is actually the opposite of why we should. Because we're not in a place where you're sensitive. We're insensitive. That's the problem."
I warned you, it's a sick concept.
The two wanted to show Babbitt's death so that Trump supporters could see the consequences of their actions and for views. All the while, the two laid on the fake-care thick as they clearly pretended that showing the footage would because 'every life matters'.
