Disney Star Backtracks on Comments About 'Snow White'
In a surprising turn of events, Disney actress Rachel Zegler has had a change of heart about the iconic 1937 animated film, “Snow White.” The actress, known for her vocal left-wing activism, had previously expressed distaste for the classic fairy tale and even criticized its portrayal of love and relationships.
However, during a recent interview with fellow Disney star Halle Bailey for Variety, Zegler sang a different tune. She called the film “a monumental moment in film history” and praised it for launching Disney to the success it is today. She added, “I love everything the Disney company has put out.”
This sudden change of heart comes after The Daily Wire announced that it will be producing its own live-action version of “Snow White,” titled “Snow White and the Evil Queen.” The film, set to be released in 2024, stars Daily Wire host Brett Cooper and is seen as a direct challenge to Disney’s remake.
The Daily Wire’s co-founder, Jeremy Boreing, has been critical of Disney’s decision to disavow its classic animated version of “Snow White” and instead focus on more modern and politically correct themes. Boreing believes that the ancient fairy tales were about “timeless truths” but Disney’s new remake will expose children to the harmful lies of the current cultural moment.

Boreing’s comments have proved to be true as Zegler, who plays Snow White in Disney’s remake, has been a vocal critic of the original film. In past interviews, she admitted to only watching it once as a child and finding it off-putting. She also stated that the new “Snow White” will not need a man or “true love” to save her and that Prince Charming’s scenes could easily be cut out of the story.
Interestingly, Disney has since pushed back the release date of its remake by a full year. Boreing believes that this is not due to the ongoing actors’ strike in Hollywood, but instead because Disney is likely reshooting large parts of the film to make it a more faithful adaptation of its own classic version.
The news of Zegler’s change of heart has caused some to question the authenticity of her initial criticism of the film and whether it was motivated by pressure from Disney. It remains to be seen how the actress and her co-star, Gal Gadot, will handle their previous denouncements of the film now that they are part of Disney’s remake.
For now, fans of “Snow White” and traditional fairy tales can look forward to The Daily Wire’s version, which promises to stay true to the timeless themes and stories that have captured readers’ hearts for generations. With a strong message of truth, love, and good conquering evil, “Snow White and the Evil Queen” is sure to be a hit when it hits theaters in 2024.
