Glorious Panic Sets In At ABC As Anchor Realizes The GOP Could Impeach 'The Big Guy'
Barring some shenanigans, we should all know soon enough who will take the majority in the House and Senate. While there is no doubt that the GOP will win either one or both majorities following today's results, the panic is just now setting in for the media.
ABC's Jon Karl went full-berzerk after seeing the writing on the wall. May GOP candidates have promised to go after several corrupt politicians and even vowed to serve Biden with an impeachment order and the people have responded by casting their votes for the right.
While interviewing Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin, Karl lost it a little and tried to press the Governor to speak for the entire party.
"What about all this impeachment talk? I mean, I've gone through -- I can count at least three members of the Biden cabinet that Republicans have talked about impeaching and obviously there have already been impeachment resolutions introduced, many of them for Biden himself. Would that be a mistake for Republicans to go in with?" Karl pressed Youngkin.
What Karl really wanted was reassurance that not everyone in the Republican party supported going after people like Biden, Pelosi, and Fauci. Youngkin did not give him that relief saying, "My job as Governor in Virginia is to deliver for Virginians and, oh, by the way, I think Republicans offer answers that Democrats have failed to offer over and over and over again."
JON KARL: I'm hearing a lot, though, of talk about investigations, investigations into Hunter Biden, FBI, all things Anthony Fauci, Republicans talking about going, you know, all in if they take control of particularly the House. Is that really what you're campaigning on to have massive investigations into all—
GOVERNOR GLENN YOUNGKIN: I think that the House and the Senate and the White House are going to have to go to work and offer solutions. On top of that, our democracy is better when our Congress exercises its responsibility for oversight and they can also deliver answers. I think voters are going to make a statement on Tuesday and they want their elected leaders to deliver results.
KARL: What about all this impeachment talk? I mean, I've gone through -- I can count at least three members of the Biden cabinet that Republicans have talked about impeaching and obviously there have already been impeachment resolutions introduced, many of them for Biden himself. Would that be a mistake for Republicans to go in with?
YOUNGKIN: Again, I believe strongly our democracy is better when our Congress exercises its oversight functions.
KARL: Impeachment?
YOUNGKIN: The reality of this is Virginians are gonna vote for congressional representatives and I think that we're going to see a number of seats flip and they want them to go to work to deliver.
KARL: But let me press you on that, though, common sense kitchen table issues, that's what you've been talking about. Is that what voters have in mind impeaching Joe Biden? I'm hearing that a lot.
YOUNGKIN: You know, I don't know -- I don't know if --
KARL: Would that be a mistake is all I'm asking.
YOUNGKIN: I can't speculate on what they're going to do. What I can tell you –
KARL: What they should do is what I'm asking.
YOUNGKIN: Is they have done—well, I'm a Governor.
KARL: I know but you're campaigning --
YOUNGKIN: My job as Governor in Virginia is to deliver for Virginians and, oh, by the way, I think Republicans offer answers that Democrats have failed to offer over and over and over again.
