Hotel Owner Offers Free EVERYTHING To Planned Parenthood Clients
A hotel owner says she’s fighting for women by putting them up in her hotel why they receive abortions. She compares her ‘protest’ the liberation of men and women from slavery.
Shelly O’Brien, who runs the Yale Hotel in the small town of Yale, Michigan, took to Facebook to offer accommodations to anyone seeking an abortion and who lives in a state with restrictions.
“Dear sisters that live in Alabama, Ohio, Georgia, Arkansas, Missouri, or any of the other states that follow with similar laws restricting access, we cannot do anything about the way you are being treated in your home-state,” O’Brien wrote. “But, if you can make it to Michigan, we will support you with several nights lodging, and transportation to and from your appointment.”
The hotel manager said she posted the offer last month because she wanted to take action after stricter abortion laws were passed in multiple states, including Alabama, which enacted a near-total ban.
Detroit Free Press notes that O’Brien, who is 55, and a mother of three and grandmother of seven, thought of the Underground Railroad, which was used to lead slaves north to freedom. If a network like that is needed now for women seeking access to abortion, she pledged to be part of that coalition, bringing them to Michigan.
“This is important,” said O’Brien. “This is my line. There’s no coming back from this. You start taking away the right for women to control their own bodies, and we’re done for as a civilization.
“I can’t stop what’s happening, but I have the resources to maybe help someone in that position, and especially knowing that women are coming from other states already.”
O’Brien’s comparison of the Underground Railroad to her own actions is both warped and ironic. The Underground Railroad was a movement to save lives whereas her plight aims to help women take the lives from infants. How do you compare the two?
