Jennings Schooled CRT Lawmaker After She Falsifies EDU Florida Laws
As the debate over Critical Race Theory (CRT) rages on, it is becoming more and more apparent that Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida is standing firmly against it. On Friday night's edition of CNN Tonight, Scott Jennings and former Ohio State Senator Nina Turner had a heated debate about the issue, with Jennings making a compelling case for why DeSantis' decision is the right one.
Jennings began by discussing the laws in Florida that require the teaching of African-American history in schools. He then went on to mention how the state had expanded their curriculum since DeSantis took office. Turner attempted to argue that it was only being taught in the way DeSantis wanted it, but Jennings was quick to point out that Florida was giving students a good education on African-American history.
To further back up his point, Jennings cited the More in Common study that showed Republicans were not hostile to a balanced teaching of American history, as some on the left would have you believe. Jennings was able to logically explain why DeSantis' decision was the right one, making a strong case for why it should be supported.
Critical Race Theory is nothing but dangerous and divisive rhetoric. It seeks to divide people based on their race and class, and has no place in our education system. It teaches that racism is built into the very structure of our society and that members of certain races should be viewed differently than others. This is completely antithetical to the American ideal of equality before the law and should not be a part of any school's curriculum.
We should all be thankful to Governor DeSantis for taking a stand against Critical Race Theory and for protecting our children from this dangerous and divisive ideology. He's setting a presence other lawmakers need to follow.
It is important that we ensure our children are receiving a fair and balanced education, free from any form of racism. We should all be supporting DeSantis and Jennings in their fight against Critical Race Theory and stand together in our fight for a better future for our children.
