Kamala Discusses Help For Hurricane Victims
Another chapter in the Biden-Harris administration’s saga of failure unfolds as flood-ravaged victims across the southern United States are left stranded in despair. In the wake of one of the deadliest hurricanes to hit the U.S., with nearly 200 dead and hundreds more missing, the incompetence on display is staggering.
These communities have lost everything—homes, livelihoods, loved ones—and yet, the administration that promised to “build back better” has failed to provide even the most basic relief. Instead, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) finds itself without sufficient funds to cover disaster relief for this hurricane season. The reason? This administration diverted FEMA’s resources to shelter illegal immigrants.
According to The Federalist, more than a billion taxpayer dollars, earmarked for American disaster relief, were funneled into programs designed to house and accommodate illegal aliens. In the 2023 fiscal year alone, FEMA directed $364 million to the “Shelter and Services Program,” and another $650 million is set aside for 2024. This money, which could have gone to rebuild communities devastated by natural disasters, is instead being used to provide “humanitarian services” to noncitizen migrants after their release from the Department of Homeland Security.

This diversion of funds has left FEMA scrambling to address actual disasters. Meanwhile, communities devastated by this hurricane are left wondering why the government isn’t there for them in their darkest hour. The Biden administration’s priorities seem utterly misplaced—giving noncitizens cushy accommodations while American citizens are left picking through the rubble of their homes.
And then there’s Vice President Kamala Harris. In what has become a predictable routine, she showed up for her obligatory photo-op, surveying the damage from a safe distance, only to later offer a paltry $750 in relief checks to victims who’ve lost everything. It’s an insulting gesture. Imagine losing your home, your possessions, and perhaps even your family, only to be handed a check that barely covers a few days of food and lodging. Meanwhile, billions continue to flow to Ukraine, and the sheltering of illegal immigrants is treated as a higher priority.
Kamala — wearing her new crisis jacket — claims she has "been paying close attention from the beginning to what we need to do" in response to Hurricane Helene.

The pace of the administration’s response is also alarming. The slow, almost indifferent approach to disaster relief raises uncomfortable questions. Is this delay intentional? Is it part of some broader, misguided political strategy? Or is it simply a matter of incompetence on a level we’ve rarely seen? Either way, the results are disastrous, and the American people are paying the price.
In every major disaster that has struck under their watch, the Biden-Harris team has consistently failed to act decisively or competently. From their bungled response to the wildfires in Maui to this latest hurricane catastrophe, their ineptitude seems to know no bounds. It’s as if when disaster strikes, they scramble not to provide relief but to make the situation worse, adding bureaucratic red tape and misdirecting funds.
