Leftist MSM Regrets Creating Cancel Culture Now Their Monster Has Finally Turned On Them
Let's be serious here, the Mainstream media practically birthed the cancel culture we know and see today. However, now that their baby has grown up and turned on a Democrat the left wants to condemn the nefarious group? During 'CBS This Morning' Gayle King and liberal author Michael Eric Dyson discussed how out of control cancel culture has become.

One of the cases the two took particular interest in was Virginia’s Democratic Governor, Ralph Northam who was busted when black-face photos from his yearbook surfaced.
Dyson began with a statement that most Americans would agree with: “I don't think the result and the answer is for us to go around willy-nilly, arbitrarily canceling other people.” But rather than mention someone like fired Mandalorian actress Gina Carano, the CBS guest launched into a defense of a liberal governor:
Dyson added, "Ralph Northam is the governor of Virginia. When he was a medical student 20 some odd years ago he dressed in black face. Was it wrong? Of course. Was it ridiculous? Yes. Was it nefarious in instances? But my point was don't cancel him out.
Dyson cynically explained, “Nothing better than a white public official who is conscious of the fact that he owes black people his future because they stand with him regardless of his mistake.”
King noted, “I thought it was interesting because we live in a cancel culture society big time today.” In the wake of Northam’s blackface scandal in 2019, King interviewed the Democrat and tried to save his career: “I marvel that you're still standing when so many people have said, 'You got to go, and you got to go now.' I'm thinking, either he's got a lot of confidence, or he's just a little crazy.”
To hear Dyson tell it, Northam just wore 'a little black-face' but that's not what he was accused of. Back in 2019, a photo from Northam's 1984 college yearbook started to circulate. It showed what was reported as Northam wearing blackface, posing with another student dressed as a member of the KKK. The entire page from the yearbook is dedicated to the now politician. I guess that's not a big deal?

Northam originally admitted that he was one of the people in the photo' but did not initially admit which costume he wore. Northam issued
an apology initially in 2019 but retracted that apology. Get this, Northam later claimed that, while he did wear black-face at that time he is sure it wasn't this particular photo. (Photo left)
Which, seems suspicious to me to say the least.
Now that the politician is under fire, again by the cancel culture- the left-wing media minions were quick to rush to his defense.
In my opinion, their choice to use two persons of color to explain why Northam shouldn't be canceled was a shameless move for optic's sake.
"I'm a Baptist preacher, 41 years. I believe in forgiveness. Should we hold people to account? Absolutely. Should they – when they mess up, should they Fess up? Yes. We should address the issue and move forward. What has he done since then? He has done so many programs including the 10,000 ex-felons who have been restored in terms of their rights, a number who are African-American, Dyson concluded. Adding that he believes it's the left's "impulse to cancel somebody. Calling it "Absolute intolerance."
