Letter Giving Joe Problems
A bombshell note from former Vice President Joe Biden to his son's then-business partner in 2011 revealed further evidence Wednesday night that ties the current president to his son's questionable dealings.
The note, obtained by the New York Post, was discussed on Fox News's "The Story" Thursday evening, where anchor Martha MacCallum read it aloud.
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. Jim Jordan said it is "solid proof" that Joe Biden has not been aboveboard in his denials on the matter.
"I apologize for not getting a chance to talk to you at the luncheon yesterday. I was having trouble getting away from hosting President Hu. I hope I get a chance to see you again soon with Hunter. I hope you enjoyed lunch. Thanks for coming," the note read. Biden curiously added a handwritten footnote on the bottom that read, "Happy you guys are together."
At the time, Archer and Hunter Biden were trying to create a private equity fund with a focus on government regulatory measures. Rep. Jordan, a Republican from Ohio, added the letter to the pile of evidence that suggests Joe Biden had knowledge of and "connections" with his son's questionable activities.
"Remember, two and a half years ago, we had a former business partner, Tony Bobulinski, say that the email from the laptop said ‘10% for the big guy’," Jordan said. "He says, ‘the big guy is Joe Biden’ -- we have the piece of evidence you just talked about there: This note from 2011. We have the WhatsApp messages."
During Devon Archer's recent closed-door congressional interview this week, he revealed that Hunter Biden's value in his business dealings was the Biden "brand." The interview transcript showed that when Archer was put on a speakerphone, he and Joe Biden only talked about the weather and other niceties. The conversation, however, was apparently "signal enough to be powerful," MacCallum reported.
Jordan agreed. "Of course the whole idea was [to] get the Vice President of the United States on the phone talking with clients and people we're doing business with -- Well, of course, they're not going to talk about business. That wasn't what was needed. What was needed is, ‘oh, I can get my dad on the phone -- who happens to be vice president of the most important country in history, who has a lot of influence in D.C -- Hey, everyone, do you want to say hello to the vice president?’"
The incendiary note from 2011 provides further evidence that President Biden may not have been as honest as he claims about his son's business dealings. Jordan and other Republicans are pushing for further investigations to be carried out in order to get to the truth. As of now, however, Joe Biden remains at the center of the controversy.
