Cohen Wants To SUE TRUMP To Cover His LEGAL FEES?
Trump’s former lawyer, Micheal Cohen, is suing for legal fees that he says Trump owes. The joke in all of this is what legal fees Cohen thinks the President should pay.
Cohen, in the lawsuit filed in New York, says he was part of an agreement with the Trump Organization that outlined the business would cover expenses for his legal expenses as he became a focus of federal prosecutors in New York and with special counsel Robert Mueller’s office.
He claims that in June 2018, when he began telling others he would cooperate with prosecutors, the Trump Organization stopped paying without any notice. Since then, he says, he’s incurred more than $1 million in legal expenses, which he argues Trump Organization should pay.
So, wait… Cohen’s claim is that Trump should PAY for the legal fees that he is accruing while he is testifying against the President? Does that not sound a little ridiculous to anyone else?
In addition to the $1.9 million in legal fees Cohen is seeking, the lawsuit claims the Trump Organization should also pay the $1.9 million Cohen was ordered to forfeit “as part of his criminal sentence arising from conduct undertaken by Mr. Cohen in furtherance of and at the behest of the Trump Organization and its principals, directors, and officers.”
Cohen, who has admitted to lying under oath, went on record claiming the President is a racist and generally trashing the Trump family- now says the administration should pay for that slander.
I think he can use his ‘book deal’ money to cover his own expenses. The book was brought up in the hearing:
“I don’t expect I’m going to have a source of income when I’m in federal penitentiary,” replied Cohen.
“Is there a book deal coming or anything like that?” Green asked.
Cohen denied having a deal but says he has been approached and didn’t seem opposed to the idea. Might as well, everyone else has cashed in on their time with the Trump family, right?
