McCarthy's Out For Blood After Visiting Biden's Border Disaster Zone
The Biden administration has been pushing for open borders and the effects of this policy have been disastrous. Kevin McCarthy recently visited the southern border and met with local law enforcement to discuss the dangerous surge in illegal migration and drug cartel activity that has taken control of the region.
McCarthy said, “This is a fundamental problem but it's a problem created by this administration." He went on to point out that no one believes our border is secure, adding: "You cannot lie to the American people any longer."
The Sinaloa drug cartel has become the largest employer in many areas near the border, leading to increased crime and corruption. The GOP leader brought several freshman Republican lawmakers along for his visit, including Arizona Rep. Juan Ciscomani who echoed McCarthy’s remarks saying: “We will hold people accountable and that includes Secretary Mayorkas.”
What does this mean for Americans? Illegal immigration costs taxpayers billions every year in social services, healthcare, education, lost wages from competition with lower-paid workers, etc. Not only is there an economic cost associated with illegal immigration but also an increase in violent crimes due to drug cartels taking advantage of loopholes in our immigration system.
In December 2021 alone, 1.7 million fentanyl pills were seized from members of the Sinaloa Cartel which was worth around $9 million dollars. This shows how powerful these cartels are becoming due to lack of security at our borders and lax enforcement policies from this current administration.
It’s time for Republicans to step up and put forth solutions that will keep Americans safe while also upholding their values – something which Democrats have failed to do so far.
We need stronger border security measures such as additional personnel; improved technology; more efficient detention procedures; better infrastructure like roads; additional resources dedicated towards criminal investigations targeting cartels; laws protecting American citizens from being exploited by employers hiring undocumented immigrants; more funding specifically designed towards helping legal immigrants transition into society successfully etc...
