McEnany Gets The Last Laugh: Biden Still A No-Show At Press Briefing: 'I Warned The Reporters'
Former White House Press Secretary, Kayleigh McEnany has settled in well in her new position as a Fox News contributor and it was a wise decision on their behalf to hire her. Not only does McEnany bring the intel but she carries along with her some much-needed trust that the news station has lost with most of its viewers over the years.
McEnany reminisced over President Trump's daily appearances in the press showing a stark contrast to the current administration. Biden has yet to have a solo press briefing- as presidents normally do. This has caused some upset among journalists but McEnany says she warned them that this would happen.
McEnany: I actually warned some of the reporters there in the press corps. In the waning days of the Trump administration, he didn't do as much press availabilities every day as he walked to [Marine One] or those press conferences.
I said to the correspondents, 'You're getting a little taste of what it will be like in the Biden administration.' I said I wouldn't expect to see much of him. We haven't. We're still waiting on that solo press conference, we're still waiting for the day, apparently by the end of the month.
In a separate segment with Fox Business, McEnany said that we should expect more of the same from Biden. Reminding viewers that he spent most of his campaign avoiding questions from the safety of his basement.
“You'll recall... the ‘basement strategy’ is what he employed on the campaign trail,” she told host Stuart Varney, referring to then-candidate Biden doing press from his basement. “He went something like 50 days and he only took questions twice. And when he did, they were hand-picked questions.”
McEnany believes Biden’s lack of interactions with the press is due to his staff. Like most of us, McEnany recognizes that it seems like Biden's 'handlers' are preventing the king of gaffe from opening his mouth.
“I think his staff does not have faith that he can stand at the podium and have a press conference the way President Trump did many times,” she said.
“I don't think this is President Biden saying, ‘I don't want to do this,’” she said. “I think it's those around him recognizing when he does speak, it doesn't always turn out so well, like calling Republicans ‘Neanderthals,’ as he did recently in the Oval Office.”
Is it any wonder that the White House doesn't want Biden involved in a live one-on-one with the press? He's forgotten the names of top officials he has known for decades. During his campaign, Biden forgot what office he was running for and even his own name. I think we are all just wondering how long he will remain in office before Democrats intact the 25th amendment and had the Oval Office over to his vp Kamala Harris.
