Update: Missing Mom, Heidi Planck: Police Fine New Evidence
Update: On Wednesday, detectives seized security video footage from the apartment complex building where Planck’s dog was found wandering alone on the 28th floor. The complex had previously been noncooperative when it came to the investigation, refusing to turn over any security footage without a warrant.
Update: On Thursday, investigators revealed that they had found new video of Planck’s boss, Jason Sugarman, at her home just two days before her disappearance. Sugarman and his business, Camden Capital Partners, are currently being investigated by the Securities and Exchange Commission. Planck acts as Financial Controller for the company. The company is alleged to have stolen $43 million from unwitting pension funds.
Today, there are reports of new video that show Planck at the apartment complex just hours before her dog was found.
Police have not released the footage as the case is still ongoing.
Heidi Planck was last seen at her 10-year-old son's football game. Reports say she left early and seem distressed but hasn't been seen since. Her longtime friend reached out to outlets to get the public's help. Her ex-husband now suspects foul play after receiving a very suspicious phone call.
Natalie John, Planck's longtime friend says Planck is a kindhearted woman who would help anyone:
"If you need a ride, if you're stuck somewhere or you need a ride, she'll come get you, or you need a ride to go somewhere, she'll take you there," John said. "You know, she's extremely smart and, you know, just a very good human person, but you know, you have a lot of friends. Heidi was not one of those friends. She was a real friend, a friend you can depend on."
John remains hopeful that Planck's will be found and reunited with her small son:
"I want you to know that you have so many friends that love you. Friends that we've never met, that we've met now and we all will be friends. We're kind of stuck together in this. But we all love you. We're rooting for you. We want to see you," John said.
"She left our son's football game early," Wayne told Fox News. "But she left early, and we really haven't seen or talked to her since."
Wayne believes his ex-wife's job may have played a role in her disappearance after he received a phone call from a Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) official on Oct. 21 asking him what he knows about her boss, Jason Sugarman.
"I don't know how she got my name and I don't know how she got my number, but she called me and started asking me questions about Sugarman," he said. "Something's dirty here."
Planck was working as a controller and executive assistant for an investment advisory company under investigation by the SEC called Camden Capital Partners LLC, according to her LinkedIn and Facebook profiles, according to Fox News.
Planck is approximately 5'3 and 120lbs with blonde hair and blue eyes.
Sugarman appeared to delete his LinkedIn profile on Tuesday reporters tried to reach him. Her ex-husband also explain that Planck complained that her boss was behind on taxes and recently discovered that he had her name "on so much of their corporate paperwork".
