NYC Tells Home Owners Not To Cut Power Or Water
The bustling city of New York has long been known as the epicenter of progressiveness, but recent events have revealed a darker side to this so-called woke metropolis.
While the city has been battling a surge in crime and illegal immigration, another issue has been quietly brewing in the shadows – squatters taking over homes and apartments and living rent-free. This disturbing trend has been made possible by a law that turns these squatters into tenants after just 30 days, leaving homeowners at their mercy.
According to reports, New York City homeowners are being pushed to their financial limits as squatters take over their properties, leaving them with mounting bills and no means to evict these unwanted tenants. The city's laws state that anyone who lives in a property for at least 30 days can claim squatter's rights, even if they entered the premises without the owner's permission. This law has been heavily exploited by squatters, many of whom are illegal immigrants, while homeowners are left struggling to keep up with the expenses of their own properties.
In interviews with CBS, several homeowners expressed their frustration and financial strain caused by the presence of squatters in their homes. One homeowner, Susan Mascara, explained that she is now in debt with maxed-out credit cards as she is forced to pay for all the expenses of her property while the squatters live there rent-free. Another homeowner shared that despite not receiving rent from the squatters, he still diligently pays the gas and electric bills every month. This unfair situation has left homeowners feeling helpless as they are unable to take any action without risking arrest or hefty fines.

One of the biggest contributors to the influx of illegal immigrant squatters is President Joe Biden's open border policies. The city has seen a rise in illegal immigrants taking over homes and apartments, adding to the already dire situation of the homeowners. Recent reports revealed that several illegal immigrant squatters were arrested on gun and drug charges, with some of them even being fugitives from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). This alarming development has sparked concerns about the safety and security of the city's neighborhoods.
This week, ICE arrested three illegal immigrant squatters, one of whom was suspected of attempted murder after police responded to a call of a person pointing a gun at someone in a driveway. Despite the seriousness of these charges, immigration authorities lodged detainer requests for the immigrants to be held in local custody.
Shockingly, one of the squatters was released despite having shot another illegal immigrant in the leg during an argument back in 2023. This lack of consequences for their actions only emboldens squatters and puts the community at risk.
The issue of squatters taking over properties is not limited to homeowners; small business owners are also feeling the impact. In one case, a restaurant owner had to close her business because squatters occupied the space above and refused to leave. This has not only resulted in the loss of income for the business owner but also put her in a difficult financial situation as she still has to pay for the space and supporting expenses.
The city's current laws and lack of consequences for squatters pose a serious threat to the livelihoods and safety of New York City's residents and business owners. It is clear that action needs to be taken to address this issue and protect innocent homeowners and small business owners. Until then, the woke city of New York may continue to be overrun by rampant crime, illegal immigration, and squatters, leaving its citizens struggling to cope with the consequences.
