Ohio Congresswoman Comments On DOGE

Democrats have a truly bizarre and inconsistent approach to immigration. On one hand, they want to present themselves as champions of immigrants. On the other, they constantly blur the lines between legal immigrants—those who followed the rules and went through the proper process—and illegal aliens who broke the law to enter the country. They insist that the term “illegal” is offensive, yet they openly acknowledge that illegal aliens serve a functional purpose, asking, “Who will pick our crops?” as though these individuals are simply here to be an exploited labor force.

But Ohio Democrat Rep. Marcy Kaptur just took the Democrats' immigration double standard to a whole new level—this time, by attacking Elon Musk for being an American citizen.

Yes, you read that right. Musk, who became a U.S. citizen 22 years ago, is now apparently suspect in Kaptur’s eyes because of his naturalized status.

"Mr. Musk has just been here 22 years," she huffed. Just 22 years?

Then, she doubled down:

"I always ask myself a question with the damage he's doing here, when push comes to shove, which country is he loyalty [sic] to—South Africa? Canada? Or the United States?"

This is peak Democrat hypocrisy. They tell us that illegal aliens, fresh off crossing the border, are just as American as you and me. They claim any effort to question their loyalty or background is xenophobic. Yet here’s Kaptur, openly suggesting that a legal immigrant—who went through the full citizenship process—shouldn’t be trusted, despite living in this country, paying taxes, and employing thousands of Americans.

So, what’s her real issue with Musk? Simple: he’s not playing by the left’s rules. He dared to take over Twitter (now X) and allow free speech. He’s exposing government censorship. He’s questioning the leftist narrative. For that, he must be smeared, discredited, and treated as a threat.

Let’s be clear—Musk is an American citizen. Period. His South African birth and Canadian heritage don’t change that. He chose to become a U.S. citizen and has arguably done more for this country than any elected Democrat in Washington. He has invested billions in American infrastructure, revolutionized space travel, and risked his fortune to challenge censorship and government overreach. He’s built businesses that provide jobs for thousands of Americans, advanced energy technology, and even helped keep Ukraine online with Starlink—at no cost to taxpayers.

And yet, Democrats treat him like an outsider who can’t be trusted. Meanwhile, they refuse to enforce immigration law, allow illegal aliens to pour across the border unvetted, and demand that we welcome them with open arms—no questions asked.

The sheer hypocrisy is staggering. Somehow, after 22 years of legal citizenship, Musk is still suspect. But illegal aliens fresh from the border, with no background checks, no ties to this country, and often fraudulent asylum claims, must be embraced without hesitation.

It’s laughable.

Even more embarrassing for Kaptur? Her speech barely had an audience. Aside from a few reporters and some uninspired staffers standing behind her, it was a ghost town. The left’s ability to rally their usual protest mobs seems to be fading fast.
