Parent’s Busted After Force Feeding Baby Risky Vegan Diet Against Doctor’s Orders
A vegan couple in Titusville, Florida starved their 5-month-old baby by replacing the baby’s doctor-recommended organic formula with their own vegan formula.
Robert Buskey, 31, and Julia French, 20, are being charged with child neglect and could face further charges, according to local Orlando station WFTV-TV.
According to court documents, the infant was lethargic and had difficulties maintaining his temperature and sugar due to dehydration and malnourishment.
Since Wednesday night, the child has gained a half a pound just by being given fluids.
Titusville police said the family’s physician had provided orders regarding the child’s nutrition and the child was improving on an organic formula.
“At one point, when the child was doing good and healthy and gaining weight, he was on an organic formula and they changed it on their own,” said Detective Lauren Watson with the Titusville Police Department.
Police said the couple was feeding the child a potato-based mash and there may be long-term medical issues as a result of the malnourishment.
This is just parents pushing their own ideology onto their children at all costs. This phenomenon is especially prevalent among liberal parents, who commonly force their agendas onto children.
The baby boy, born seven pounds and nine ounces, gained less than a pound in his 5-month life, according to The Miami Harold.
Police say the baby had visible bones and sunken eyes, according to WESH2.
French and Buskey face a felony charge of child neglect, according to inmate records. After receiving fluids on Wednesday, the child is already a half-pound heavier, police told WFTV9. He is under the care of the Department of Children and Families.
As Reported By NY Post:
“The Department of Children and Families organized an investigation after noticing the infant’s eyes were sunken and his ribs could clearly be seen.
Court documents say that the baby was also very sleepy, and dehydration and malnourishment had resulted in erratic temperatures and sugar levels.
Cops said that the couple were feeding him a spud-based “mash.”
There are fears that a lack of proper nourishment in the crucial first five months of his life could leave a lasting impact.”
