Pelosi Has Sharp Response To Question From Reporter
There are meltdowns—and then there are Pelosi meltdowns.
On Thursday, as Rep. Nancy Pelosi exited the Capitol, she was confronted by journalist Alison Steinberg of Lindell TV with what should’ve been a routine political question: Why didn’t you call in the National Guard on January 6? A fair inquiry, especially as the House reopens investigations into the events of that day.
HOLY CRAP! Rep. Nancy Pelosi LOSES IT, goes BERSERK and yells at reporter when asked, "why did you refuse the National Guard on January 6th!"

But instead of answering—or deflecting with her usual practiced grace—Pelosi snapped.
“Shut up! I did not refuse the National Guard. The president didn’t send it. Why are you coming here with Republican talking points, as if you're a serious journalist?”
That response wasn’t just defensive—it was unhinged. And more importantly, it wasn’t true.
The moment is already making the rounds on social media, not because it’s unusual for politicians to be testy under pressure, but because the question hit precisely where Pelosi didn’t want it to: the still-unresolved role of Democratic leadership on January 6. Steinberg’s follow-up, “The American people want to know. We still have questions,” wasn’t aggressive—it was accurate.

And yes, we do have the tape.
Footage exists showing Pelosi on the phone during the Capitol breach saying she wanted the National Guard there. But internal communications and testimonies—some still hidden or redacted—raise serious questions about why requests for additional security prior to January 6 were delayed or denied, and who ultimately had the authority to greenlight reinforcements. It’s murky, and that murkiness only grows when high-ranking leaders like Pelosi lash out instead of clarify.
If Pelosi were confident in her version of events, the exchange would have been simple: “Here’s what happened, here’s the record, and here’s what I did.” But that’s not what happened. Instead, we got a hostile outburst, a refusal to engage, and a swipe at the journalist’s credibility—all the hallmarks of a politician cornered.
