Reap What You Sew: Guess Who Comes In Dead Last In Approvals, Hint: It's NOT Trump!

In a very telling report Gallup found one of the 'big nine' leaders have fallen far behind the rest in overall approval ratings. This study specifically took a look at how each leader has handled the Covid-19 crisis.

No, it's not the President, your local governments, hospitals or even schools...

Gallup Findings:

"Americans are generally positive in their evaluations of how each of nine leaders and institutions has handled the response to the coronavirus situation. Eight of the nine receive majority positive ratings -- led by U.S. hospitals, at 88% approval. Only the news media gets a more negative than positive review."

  • Hospitals 88% Approve
  • Schools/daycare 83% Approve
  • Local Government 82% Approve
  • Employers 82% Approve
  • Health Agencies (i.e. the CDC) 80% Approve
  • VP Mike Pence 61% Approve
  • President Trump 60% Approve
  • Congress 59% Approve
  • News Media 44% Approve

While the media's disapproval is pretty much bipartisan, the Gallup poll shows Democrats were slightly less disapproving of how the media has handled coverage. Showing that at least some are still buying into the over- politicization of a very serious situation. Adding:

"Gallup has consistently found that Democrats have more confidence than Republicans in mass media."

What's interesting is, where more Democrats have a type of blind faith in the mainstream media, Republicans had a higher over-all approval of how their local governments are handling things:

"About four in five Americans approve of the way their state government and government agencies such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Institutes of Health are handling the coronavirus outbreak. Similarly, 83% of parents of children younger than 18 rate their children's school or daycare positively for its handling of the situation. And 82% of U.S. workers rate their employer's response positively."

The Trump administration received beaming bipartisan results:

"Meanwhile, about six in 10 U.S. adults approve of the response by their elected leaders in Washington: President Donald Trump, Vice President Mike Pence and the U.S. Congress as a whole."

This thing isn't over yet. Obviously, it's all contingent upon how the nine leaders handle themselves moving forward. However, we can clearly see that the public, as a whole, has grown tired of fear-mongering and politically motivated reporting.

The bottom line is, we want information on problems but we want it to include possible solutions. Especially when faced with a real crisis. None of that 'the sky is falling and there is nothing we can do about it' jargon.
