Social Media Account Responds To MSM Report
The recent blunder by Newsweek, involving a parody account and Kash Patel’s nomination as FBI Director, reveals not only the perils of modern media but also the significance of Patel’s expected reforms.
In a glaring error, the outlet cited a satirical Twitter post from an account claiming to be Patel’s father, Dr. Parik Patel, BA, CFA, ACCA Esq., as if it were genuine. The account, self-labeled as a parody, humorously suggested that President Joe Biden pardoned his son, Hunter, to preempt Kash Patel’s ability to prosecute him as the next FBI Director.
The parody account’s bio, which clearly states "Parody. Not Investment Advice," did not stop Newsweek from running with the story. The satirical post claimed Biden’s decision stemmed from fear of “Kashu,” a mocking twist on Patel’s name.
In response, the parody account quipped: “Thank you @Newsweek for amplifying my message—Hunter Biden was pardoned just in time before my son Kashu could prosecute him for his crimes.” Other satirical accounts, including one jokingly claiming to represent Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, joined the fray, further ridiculing the gaffe.

The broader context of this fiasco underscores the stakes of Kash Patel’s appointment. Announced by Donald Trump, Patel’s nomination reflects a decisive push to overhaul the FBI, which has been mired in controversy. During Trump’s first term, Patel played a critical role in exposing the falsehoods of the Russia collusion narrative, an effort that revealed politicized maneuvers within the Bureau.
In nominating Patel, Trump emphasized his commitment to restoring integrity to the FBI. He praised Patel’s track record as a legal and investigative force who championed truth and accountability. Patel’s nomination aligns with Trump’s broader vision to address crime, curb border trafficking, and depoliticize federal prosecutions—issues at the forefront of conservative concerns.

Democrats have reacted strongly to Patel’s pending appointment, with some expressing fears of “political prosecutions” under his leadership. Ironically, this mirrors conservative grievances about the FBI’s perceived targeting of political opponents. Biden, meanwhile, justified Hunter’s pardon as a response to politically motivated prosecution—a claim Patel and others would likely dispute given Hunter’s documented legal troubles.
