The Murder Of A Mother And Two Kids By Twice Deported Man Was Totally Avoidable
Here on the anniversary of the murder victim, Mollie Tibbets disappearance police announce another senseless murder at the hands of an illegal.
This too was avoidable and a direct result of relaxed immigration policies in Iowa.
According to USA Today, A man accused of killing a mother and her two children was in the U.S. illegally and had twice previously been deported, federal authorities say.
Marvin Oswaldo Esquivel-Lopez, 31, has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder for Tuesday night’s triple homicide.
His victims have been identified as a small family he was living with: Rossibeth Flores-Rodriguez, 29; Grecia Daniela Alvarado-Flores, 11; and Ever Jose Mejia-Flores, 5. Officers, responding to a 911 call, found the three bodies at the home Tuesday night, according to police.
A spokesman for Immigration and Customs Enforcement said Wednesday that the accused’s name is actually Marvin Oswaldo Escobar-Orellana and he returned to the U.S. after being deported to Guatemala.
Orellana was deported in both 2010 and 2011, and convicted of illegal entry. He crossed the border around Laredo, Texas, was sentenced to 15 days in jail and ordered not to return — a command by which he did not abide, ICE spokesman Shawn Neudauer confirmed with AP.
Des Moines police spokesman Paul Parizek said the victims were renting the lower portion of the duplex from the suspect and his family, according to video from NBC affiliate.
There was a dispute before the killings, and afterward the suspect called 911, police said.
“Everybody wants to know why. The community wants to know why this happened — particularly the two precious little kids,” Parizek said. “The sad part is, we may never know why.”
Congressman Steve King issued a statement blaming lax immigration laws that led to the deaths.
King said the suspect in the triple homicide “must have been turned into the streets,” instead of ICE when police previously cited him. This could have prevented the deaths, King said.
Des Moines Public Schools said in a statement on Facebook that Grecia had just completed the 5th grade at Moulton Elementary School and Ever was about to begin kindergarten.
“Our hearts are heavy over the murder of Grecia Daniela Alvarado-Flores, Ever Jose Mejia-Flores, and their mother Rossibeth Flores-Rodriguez,” the district said. “Please keep their family — along with our students, staff and teachers at Moulton — in your thoughts.”
