Trans Health Director Throws A Tantrum After For Being Called A "Sir"
A transgender Pennsylvania state official, Dr. Rachel Levine has been under fire for some extremely questionable decisions. One such decision was sending COVID-19 positive patients back to their nursing homes before they were released or deemed 'recovered' by medical professionals. During a press conference, the doctor managed to redirect the conversation after a reporter reportedly 'misgendered' Levine.
A transcript of the exchange was published by the Pittsburgh City Paper:
GRIFFIN: When folks know what yellow is kind of sort of but they don't even know what green is because you don't. What's the end game, sir? Where do we get to the point where folks can be confident they can conduct business if they do it safely and there's no time frame and there's no window? Correct me if I'm wrong, sir ... ma'am.
[Levine answers]
GRIFFIN: How do you respond, doctor, to the conjecture that your response is jeopardizing the health and well being of seniors by moving them into nursing facilities even if they're no longer COVID positive, sir?

LEVINE: So please don't misgender me.
GRIFFIN: I'm so sorry.
LEVINE: It's really insulting.
GRIFFIN: I apologize. It's not malicious. I apologize. I'm so sorry.
As you can see the reporter apologized. He even took to Twitter to explain himself but it would prove to not be enough to satisfy the doctor's brused feelings. After his apology both in the briefing and publicly online, Lavine took to Twitter to insult the entire network, calling them 'shock-jocks' and canceling a future interview with them:
"Cancelled interview w/ Lynne Hayes-Freeland for tomorrow. Not upset w/her, she’s always been a fair, strong journalist. But will not support
Cancelled interview w/ Lynne Hayes-Freeland for tomorrow. Not upset w/her, she’s always been a fair, strong journalist. But will not support @KDKARadio behavior. Growing up, KDKA had good people who made us proud to be from Pittsburgh. Now, it shock-jocks, sensationalism & worse.

I apologize. I apologized twice. I truly did. It was not intentional. It was not. I was not focused. I was doing six things at once. https://t.co/cdBO9r1iF8

Levine and the rest of of the Pennsylvania health department is under fire for a policy requiring state nursing homes to admit COVID-19 positive patients or face state disciplinary procedures — a policy that led to an eruption of coronavirus cases across the state. “Nearly 70% of Pennsylvania’s Covid-19 deaths, 2611 of 3806, have occurred in nursing homes or long-term care facilities,” the Daily Wire reported Wednesday.
Levine is also facing charges that she pulled her own mother out of a Pennsylvania nursing home before she could become infected with the novel coronavirus, but after it became clear that adult care facilities within the state were ground zero for COVID-19.

Some Twitter users are questioning if the doctor is using the exchange as an excuse to avoid questioning.
