Trump Bashes British Ambassador Resigns After His Comments Are Leaked
British Ambassador Sir Kim Darroch should have known better. Back in 2017, he wrote a report that was never supposed to be seen by the public. It was a report where he felt it necessary to bash the president of the United States.
"Darroch allegedly criticized the president further, accusing him of “radiating insecurity” and of filling presidential speeches with “false claims and invented statistics.” Darroch added that he felt Trump had achieved “almost nothing” when it came to domestic policy."
"We don’t really believe this Administration is going to become substantially more normal; less dysfunctional; less unpredictable; less faction riven; less diplomatically clumsy and inept,” he wrote."
What was he thinking? His whole job relies on having a good relationship with the American Government.
Trump responded to the slights on Twitter.
"I have been very critical about the way the U.K. and Prime Minister Theresa May handled Brexit. What a mess she and her representatives have created. I told her how it should be done, but she decided to go another way. I do not know the Ambassador, but he is not liked or well...."
"...thought of within the U.S. We will no longer deal with him. The good news for the wonderful United Kingdom is that they will soon have a new Prime Minister. While I thoroughly enjoyed the magnificent State Visit last month, it was the Queen who I was most impressed with!"
"The ambassador has not served the UK well, we're not big fans of that man"

Darroch's resignation announcement:
“Since the leak of official documents from this Embassy, there has been a great deal of speculation surrounding my position and the duration of my remaining term as ambassador. I want to put an end to that speculation," Darroch said. “Although my posting is not due to end until the end of this year, I believe in the current circumstances the responsible course is to allow the appointment of a new ambassador."
Good riddance. He didn't even apologize for his poor conduct. He should have at least tried to mend the fence before he leaves.
