Trump Holds Event In Wisconsin
In the latest twist in a heated election season, former President Donald Trump orchestrated a dramatic appearance in a garbage truck as he ramped up attacks on President Joe Biden over comments Biden allegedly made, suggesting Trump’s supporters were “garbage.”
The appearance, held in Green Bay, Wisconsin, was a classic Trump move—a blend of visual theatrics and political commentary designed to spotlight Biden’s remarks while positioning himself as a defender of his base.
Trump descended from his Boeing 757 onto a rain-dampened tarmac, where he made his way to the white garbage truck emblazoned with his name. After a momentary struggle with the handle, he took his place in the passenger seat, donning a bright orange safety vest layered over his signature white shirt and red tie. Once inside, he turned to reporters, gesturing to the truck as he quipped, “How do you like my garbage truck? This is in honor of Kamala and Joe Biden.”

Trump’s appearance was clearly aimed at capitalizing on a comment Biden made during a call with the Latino outreach group, Voto Latino, where he seemed to refer to Trump supporters as “the only garbage I see floating out there.” Though the White House later revised Biden's words, claiming he was condemning Trump’s “demonization of Latinos” rather than his base directly, Trump seized the opportunity to wield the comment as a rallying cry.
Adding another layer to the drama, Trump also faced backlash from Democrats over a joke made by comedian Tony Hinchcliffe at a Trump rally, which disparaged Puerto Rico as a “floating island of garbage.”
When asked about the comedian, Trump quickly distanced himself, stating he didn’t know Hinchcliffe or his work, saying, “I know nothing about him.” However, Trump stopped short of condemning the remark, saying only that he loves Puerto Rico, a sentiment he emphasized from the garbage truck’s window as cameras rolled.

This unconventional appearance gave Trump an edge in amplifying his base's sentiments against Biden and his team. Wearing the orange safety vest, he took the Green Bay stage, tying the garbage truck stunt into his message. From a theatrical standpoint, it played into Trump’s familiar role as the outsider, poking fun at the establishment while making his campaign both memorable and resonant with supporters who see themselves as similarly dismissed by Washington elites.
