Unbelievable CCTV Footage Catches Thief's Pathetic Attempt To Steal Beer [Video]
When A Belgian man went out for a 'five finger discount' beer run at his local supermarket he didn't anticipate running into his archnemesis, a 6ft security fence.
The set out to rob his local supermarket after hours and found himself hung up on the fence. Not once but twice and in the same exact spot!
Luckily for us, the entire ordeal was captured on CCTV footage.
In the moments prior to getting hung up by the fence, the crook entered the loading dock area sometime around 3 am after using bread shelves to climb the notorious spiked fence. Moments later he rushes back with his bounty, about 24 cans of Monster energy drinks.
He fails to clear the fence and dangles upside down for about an hour until 'good samaritans' helped the theif down. All without questioning why he was hanging there in the first place.
The thief's raid wasn't over, as he returns sometime around 5 am to collect the real target, beer. After climbing over the fence for a second time, the thief gets stuck again and is left hanging upside down trying to free his trousers from a spike.
At around 6.30am, some passers-by encountered the thief and called the cops, who caught him red-handed and immediately arrested him.
The supermarket owner Mr. Craeghs said he was called by the police at 9 am about the incident.
He said: 'We then went together to look at the CCTV footage. We almost rolled on the floor laughing.'
The 30-year-old thief, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was already known to the police because of his previous criminal record.
The stolen beers and energy drinks were found at his house and returned to the supermarket.
Police didn't give any reason as to why the thief's identity couldn't be released to the public aside from citing 'legal reason'. I'm sure the crook is thankful that the world may never learn the true identity of 'the world's worst thief'.
