US Intel Called It! Putin Makes New False Flag Claim
It's not the first whopper from the former KGB agent but the timing on Putin's sudden discovery of 'mass gaves' is a little too convenient. Russia's military has Ukraine flanked and a nervous Putin claims he'll invade if he has to but what does that mean? Russia invades, their allies will be forced to intervene and Putin would have a world war on his hands.
However, if he could create a reason to attack Ukraine, that would be different.
Putin claimed to have discovered the mass graves of 'hundreds' of Russian speaking' civilians and declared that Ukraine hatched a secret plot of genicide against Russians.
"Russia's Investigative Committee claimed on Wednesday that mass graves of hundreds of Russian-speaking civilians had been found in the Donbas region, as the Russian government continued to accuse Ukraine of genocide and human rights violations in Donbas.
The committee claimed that the civilians found in the area controlled by Russian-backed separatists were killed by Ukrainian shelling. "The Investigative Committee continues to take all possible measures to uphold the principle of the inevitability of punishment for those responsible for committing crimes in Donetsk and Luhansk areas," said the committee.
The announcement comes a day after Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that "in our view what is now happening in Donbas is genocide" and claimed that there were "mass violations of human rights in Ukraine" during a press conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. Putin has made similar accusations in the past."
INews in UK's reported that expert, Maximilian Hess, said the claims were propaganda from Mr Putin to justify to his own people the country’s increasing military build-up on the Ukraine border. Hess is works in the Eurasia Program at the Foreign Policy Research Institute,
“They need to have a credible threat to keep the US and the West at the negotiating table,” he told INews. “But they also need to come up with stories like this to keep that pressure domestically.
“Russians have used almost every single one of these lines before, including investigations into genocide. There are ‘reports’ going back pretty much to 2014 alleging the same thing without evidence.”
Mr Hess added: “If Russia is going to invade Ukraine, which I actually think is not his preferred policy outcome, Russia will use stories like this to build that narrative domestically, much as they did in 2014.
