Watch: Dem Mayor Begs Biden To Stop Blooding His City With Illegal Immigrants
Just to rehash this issue again, in an attempt to roll-back the legacy of the Trump administration Joe Biden targeted Trump's border policies. A memo went out to ICE detention centers demanding that all detainees be released, regardless of circumstance or legal concerns, immediately. Biden broke deals made by Trump with neighboring nations to harbor some of the immigrants seeking asylum and pretty much told illegals that he'll grant them citizenship if they only get here.
This jump-started the caravans that Trump fought so hard to thwart and flooded states along the US southern border with immigrants that they were now financially responsible for. To make matters worse, Biden doesn't care if the immigrants have covid. In fact, they aren't even being tested- in the middle of a pandemic.
While dealing with a severe weather crisis and extreme power outages, Texas is feeling the crushing burden of Biden's orders. One mayor, a Democrat, is going viral in a video he made pleading with Biden to walk it back. The mayor adds that if Biden doesn't intervene he'll have no choice but to put his taxpaying legal citizens first and leave immigrants to fend for themselves.
Mind you, this problem didn't exist before Biden. Trump had successfully defended US borders and created a better immigration system that protected citizens while aiding legal passage.
Del Rio, Texas mayor Bruno Lozano took to Youtube this week to plead with Biden to “please stop” and to “make a new plan” with migrants awaiting court dates. The situation, he said, is not only dangerous for his residents but for the migrants who are exposed to the deadly unexpected winter that settled into the region.
"I am pleading and requesting with you to please put a halt to any measures regarding the release of immigrants awaiting court dates into the city of Del Rio and surrounding areas," asked Democratic Mayor Bruno Lozano. We do not have the resources available to house and accommodate these migrants within our community."
"I will have no choice but to use the extreme measure under the emergency declaration as the Mayor of the City of Del Rio, Texas, to refuse the entry of migrants awaiting court dates," he continued.
"If you do send these individuals into our community, we will be forced to make a decision to leave them without resources through these dire circumstances."
The state of Texas has experienced a rare winter storm across the state which has knocked out the state's power grid. Many Texans have struggled to simply stay warm during the crisis.
"If you're going to allow these individuals into our community, I respectfully ask that you provide the means and the supplies necessary to accommodate them safely under these extreme circumstances," Lozano said.
"We do not have a timestamp as to when we'll be getting power again, and we cannot guarantee it will be consistent," Lozano said of the crisis.
"We have been outsourcing dialysis treatments for in need persons in our community. We have had to relocate the elderly who are in need of power for oxygen tanks."
"We are completely and utterly spread thin," he declared, noting that icy roads make it difficult for resources to be imported to the city.
“Our nonprofits, our churches are running thin with resources to provide to our very own citizens,” the mayor said. “Additionally, we have been burdened with the inadequate communication systems throughout the entire area, which has impacted our ability to respond and coordinate limited resources and distribution.”
"Additionally, we have been burdened with the inadequate communication systems throughout the entire area which has impacted our ability to respond and coordinate limited resources and distribution," he further noted.
Lozano also argued that Del Rio has been diligent in protecting itself against coronavirus, and that bringing in illegal immigrants without subjecting them to coronavirus tests could undermine public health measures and Biden's own commitment to fighting the virus. Reminding Biden that his policy goes against his pledge to end the virus and threatens vulnerable taxpayers.
Lozano, a Democrat, became mayor of Del Rio in 2018, winning 62 percent of the vote. He has been noted for his military service and his flamboyant style.
President Trump solved the problem with an agreement with Mexico to hold the asylum-seekers in Mexico camps instead of freeing each into the U.S. The “Remain in Mexico” policy worked and illegal immigration flowed to a trickle. One of the first actions of President Biden was to end Trump's Remain in Mexico policy with an executive order.
