Whoopi Comments On Trump Giving Out Bonus
If you tuned into The View today hoping for a sober, reasoned discussion of national events, you were swiftly reminded why the show has become little more than a performative echo chamber for progressive groupthink. And at the center of today’s theater was none other than Whoopi Goldberg, who managed to take a straightforward, bipartisan gesture from President Trump—a $1,776 bonus check for U.S. service members—and twist it into a full-blown coup conspiracy theory.
Yes, really.
Trump, during his address from the Oval Office, not only celebrated a better-than-expected inflation report (which economists agreed showed genuine progress), but also announced what he called the "Warrior Dividend"—a patriotic and symbolic $1,776 bonus for active-duty military personnel. Whether you like Trump or not, it’s a tangible thank-you to troops during the holiday season.
Whoopi doubts Trump is going to pay the troops his announced $1,776 bonus, but then claims it's a bribe for them to back his plots:
"What he's doing is, he's thinking, 'if I make sure that the soldiers have what they need they'll back me and what I want, see?" pic.twitter.com/DBmKx6IfEN— Nicholas Fondacaro (@NickFondacaro) December 18, 2025
But to Whoopi? This was some kind of sinister down payment for future military loyalty in a hypothetical authoritarian takeover.
This isn’t satire. This was broadcast to millions of viewers in broad daylight, with Goldberg seriously suggesting that Trump was attempting to “buy” the military in advance of some dark, undefined plot. The rest of the panel didn’t bat an eye. If anything, they nodded along like this was just another Tuesday in their alternate political universe.
Let’s pause here for some clarity: the inflation numbers backed up Trump’s claims. Even non-MAGA voices—Van Jones among them—acknowledged the economic address was measured, effective, and well received. But instead of acknowledging that, Goldberg reached for a plot straight out of House of Cards.
This is the central problem with The View. What masquerades as “women’s voices in media” has devolved into a daily cocktail of progressive paranoia, anti-Trump melodrama, and coastal elitism, custom-made for the Chardonnay-fueled rage of suburban Resistance Twitter.

For years, conservatives were told they were the ones trafficking in conspiracy. Hunter Biden’s laptop? Russian disinformation. Lab-leak theory? Xenophobic. Border crisis? Manufactured. But again and again, conservative “conspiracies” are vindicated by time and facts.
Meanwhile, Goldberg can insinuate that a military bonus is a prelude to dictatorship, and no one flinches.
This isn’t just bad commentary. It’s unserious television, wrapped in the self-righteous aura of “defending democracy,” while treating the audience like it’s too dense to know better.
Maybe Whoopi wasn’t drunk. Maybe this is just how detached from reality the hosts of The View have become. Either way, if your morning show has to invent military coups to stay relevant, it's probably time to change the channel—or better yet, cancel the show altogether.
