WSJ To Biden's Rescue, Here's Their Sick Plan For Americans To Save Money
The Biden Administration’s insistence that the economy is in good shape is hard to swallow when people’s wallets are being emptied. Prices are skyrocketing, wages are stagnant, and the government is doing little to ease the burden—all while the Wall Street Journal suggest Americans skip a meal to save money.
It’s no surprise that many are skipping meals to save money and making do with less expensive food choices. According to the latest inflation report, egg prices are up an astonishing 70.1% over the past year—the highest annual rate since 1973. And the deadliest avian influenza outbreak on record has decimated poultry flocks across the U.S., leading the price of eggs to rise more than any other grocery item in 2022, according to Information Resources Inc.
Frozen, noncarbonated juices and drinks—a category that includes frozen orange juice—rose by 1.5% in January from a month earlier, and the 12.4% annual increase is the highest in over a decade. Florida orange growers are harvesting their smallest crop in nearly 90 years due to a freeze, two hurricanes and a citrus disease that is laying waste to its groves.
Cereal prices have also skyrocketed, up 15% year-over-year, and coffee prices are mixed—roasted coffee prices were down a bit in January, but instant coffee prices rose by a scorching 3.6%.
The blame for this economic mess lies directly with President Biden and his liberal cronies. When he was warned that pouring trillions into an economy that had already recovered from the Trump years would cause inflation, he ignored the advice and now we’re all paying the price.
It’s becoming increasingly difficult to ignore the fact that the U.S. economy is in trouble. Democrats are blaming the ‘poor’ (also known as the lower and middle class) for inflation, and it’s obvious that the liberal elites have no idea how to handle the situation.
The Wall Street Journal said that because egg price increases were the worst, Americans should just skip that meal completely:
"Several breakfast staples saw sharp price increases due to a perfect storm of bad weather and disease outbreaks—and continued effects from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Egg prices increased 8.5% in January from a month earlier and are up 70.1% over the past year, the highest annual rate since 1973. The deadliest avian-influenza outbreak on record has devastated poultry flocks across the U.S., leading the price of eggs to rise more than any other grocery item in 2022, according to Information Resources Inc. U.S. egg inventories were 29% lower in the final week of December 2022 than at the beginning of 2022, according to the USDA."
I hate even repeating this ignorant idea, but people should know what the left thinks we should all be doing if we want to save money. It’s time for the Biden Administration to stop its reckless spending and start taking responsibility for its actions.
