Chamber of Commerce Letter Resurfaces
Folks, it looks like Governor Tim Walz is once again under the spotlight, and not for reasons he’d like. This time, it’s a scandal that’s bringing back some skeletons from his past, and let me tell you, the revelations aren’t pretty. If you’ve been following his career, you might not be entirely surprised, but for those who haven’t, buckle up because this is a wild ride.
The latest controversy started when an old letter from the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce resurfaced, revealing yet another instance where Walz appears to have stretched the truth. Back in 2006, during his congressional run, Walz claimed he had received an award from the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce. But here’s the kicker: the chamber says that never happened.
According to the letter, penned by then-president Barry L. Kennedy, Walz was asked to remove the false claim from his campaign materials. Kennedy didn’t mince words, stating clearly, “We researched this matter and can confirm that you have not been the recipient of any award from the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce.”
WOW.
The Nebraska Chamber of Commerce had to write a letter to Tim Walz’s Congressional campaign to remove an award he never received from them.
Going on to clarify that the Chamber had endorsed his opponent.

Now, you’d think that would have been the end of it, but here’s where it gets even more interesting. The chamber had actually endorsed Walz’s opponent, Congressman Gil Gutknecht, making this false claim even more awkward. Kennedy’s letter politely but firmly requested that Walz remove any mention of the award to avoid giving the impression that the chamber supported his candidacy. Ouch!
But this isn’t the first time Walz has been caught bending the truth. Recently, it was revealed that he lied about using IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) to conceive his children, a claim he used to attack Republicans on issues related to reproductive rights. The Harris campaign had to step in and clarify that Walz and his wife actually used a different procedure called IUI (Intrauterine Insemination), which doesn’t involve the controversial elements that IVF does. Yet, Walz continued to push the false narrative on the campaign trail, even using it in fundraising efforts.
Gov. @Tim_Walz: If it was up to JD Vance, I wouldn't have a family because of IVF. Democrats are investing in prenatal care. We're the ones that are for universal pre-K. We're the ones that are providing school meals. I'm not gonna back down one bit on this whole family values… pic.twitter.com/jdbKmpuh4K

And the list doesn’t stop there. Walz has also claimed to have won one or two Minnesota “Teacher of the Year” awards—a claim that, according to a review of the award’s records, is completely false. Additionally, there’s the matter of his 1995 drunk driving arrest in Nebraska. While court records show that Walz was indeed driving under the influence, his congressional campaign later tried to spin the story, blaming his failed sobriety test on hearing loss from his time in the National Guard rather than alcohol.
But perhaps most troubling is Walz’s embellishment of his military service. While he did serve in the National Guard, he has been caught exaggerating his rank and the nature of his service, claiming he retired as a command sergeant major and saw combat in the Middle East—neither of which is true.
