Stewart Jokes About Convention
Ladies and gentlemen, get ready because comedian Jon Stewart didn’t hold back when he took aim at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) this week.
If you tuned in to “The Daily Show” on Thursday night, you witnessed Stewart delivering some sharp criticism, calling out what he saw as glaring hypocrisy within the Democratic Party. And let me tell you, he didn’t pull any punches!
NEW: Jon Stewart calls out the hypocrisy from the DNC for how they celebrated people who "prosecuted s*xual predators" but also had Bill Clinton give a speech.
These people all know the DNC is playing them as fools yet they will still cast their votes for Democrats.

Stewart kicked things off by highlighting the unusual mix of speakers at the DNC. He pointed out the irony of having union leaders and CEOs sharing the same stage, alongside Democratic icons and even some lifelong Republicans. But what really caught his eye—and had him rolling his eyes—was the stark contrast in messaging.
Stewart noted how, at one moment, Senator Bernie Sanders (an Independent from Vermont) was passionately shouting, “Screw the billionaires!” only to be followed immediately by Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker, who just so happens to be a billionaire himself. The contrast was so striking that Stewart couldn’t help but mock the inconsistency: “It’s all okay if it’s our billionaire,” he quipped. “I don’t like billionaires, but he’s all right.”
But that wasn’t all. Stewart also took a swipe at Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, who had mocked Senator JD Vance for attending Yale. Stewart found this particularly rich given that the DNC featured several prominent Yale graduates, including Hillary Clinton, Senators Cory Booker, Chris Coons, and Amy Klobuchar.
To drive his point home, Stewart even displayed their photos on the screen, underscoring the contradiction. It was a classic Stewart move—pointing out how the rhetoric didn’t quite match the reality.
And then came perhaps the most biting critique of the night. Stewart zeroed in on the Democrats’ focus on prosecuting sexual predators, a theme they emphasized during the convention. He showed a photo of Vice President Kamala Harris, who has a record as a prosecutor. But then, with a knowing look, he posted a photo of former President Bill Clinton—who has faced multiple accusations of sexual misconduct—next to Harris’s image.
The implication was clear: the Democrats might talk a big game about holding predators accountable, but Stewart wasn’t about to let them off the hook for ignoring their own past.
