CNN's New Poll Is Nothing But Bad News For Biden, Trump Indictment Flops
It looks like the Democrats' plans are failing—The Trump indictment is not saving Joe Biden from his impending doom.
A recent CNN poll conducted by SSRS paints a grim picture of the president's current standing. Political Director David Chalian noted that Biden is "underperforming" on his job approval rating on a "slew of issues," including immigration and the economy.
Just 32% of Americans said they thought Biden deserved a second term in the December poll, and that number has dropped in the most recent March poll. Young voters, liberals, and those who would typically be in Biden's corner are not behind his reelection. Overall, the poll showed 42% of Americans approve of the job Biden is doing, and 57% disapprove.
It's not hard to see why. Biden has been unable to make any headway on the immigration crisis. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) encountered over 2.3 million migrants in Fiscal Year 2022 and another 600,000 migrants evaded CBP in the same fiscal year.
On top of that, Biden has failed to get the economy back on track. Inflation is high, the dollar is in danger of losing its status as the world's reserve currency, and a number of banks are teetering on the brink of bankruptcy.
It's clear that Biden's plans are not working, and it looks like the Democrats' plans are failing. The Trump indictment is not saving Biden from his coming doom, and the American people are beginning to realize it.
This could mean big trouble for the Democrats in the upcoming elections, and it's no surprise that Biden has delayed announcing his reelection bid.
It's time for the Democrats to take a long, hard look at the current state of affairs and come up with a plan that will actually work for the American people. If not, Joe Biden might be headed for a one-term presidency.
