DOGE Makes Crazy Discoveries - Bureaucrats Tried To Physically Stop Them
Alright, folks, buckle up, because this one is big. In a move that has Washington in a tailspin, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE)—headed by none other than Elon Musk—has taken direct aim at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), and let’s just say, it’s not business as usual over there anymore.
Over the weekend, DOGE reportedly seized control of the independent agency, sidelining more than 50 senior USAID staff members, slapping them with administrative leave and gag orders. If that wasn’t enough to send bureaucrats into a panic, DOGE also removed USAID signage from its headquarters in the Ronald Reagan Building and took over its computer systems. Yes, you read that correctly—USAID, an agency responsible for distributing billions in foreign aid, has essentially been placed on ice.
Now, let’s talk numbers. USAID handled about $40 billion in appropriations last year. That’s a staggering amount of taxpayer money being sent overseas—often with little transparency, and, if we’re being honest, sometimes into the hands of governments and organizations that don’t exactly have America’s best interests at heart. It’s no wonder Musk, never one to shy away from cutting waste, took one look at this operation and said, Nope, not on my watch.
And let’s talk about that watch, because President Trump himself is loving what he’s seeing. When asked if Musk was delivering on his promises, Trump didn’t hold back. “I do think Elon is doing a good job,” he said. “He's a big cost cutter... a smart guy, very smart, and he's very much into cutting the budget of our federal government.” That’s high praise from the president, and it sends a clear message—Washington’s days of burning through taxpayer cash with no accountability may finally be over.

Of course, not everyone is thrilled about this shake-up. Two top security officials at USAID—John Voorhees and deputy Brian McGill—were reportedly placed on leave after refusing to hand over classified material to DOGE. Their reasoning? DOGE officials supposedly lacked high enough security clearance. But guess what? By Saturday, DOGE had gained access to USAID’s classified intelligence reports anyway. And that’s when the fireworks really started.
Elon Musk took to X (formerly Twitter) with a scorched-earth response, calling USAID a “criminal organization” and saying it was time for it to be eliminated. Not stopping there, he went on to call the agency a “viper’s nest of radical-left Marxists who hate America” and outright declared, “USAID is evil.” And if that wasn’t enough, Trump echoed those sentiments, saying USAID has been run by “a bunch of radical lunatics” and his administration is cleaning house.
Naturally, the usual suspects are not happy. Senator Cory Booker rushed to social media to decry what he called the “reckless and illegal dismantling” of USAID, warning that Trump and Musk’s actions would lead to humanitarian disasters. But let’s be honest—wasn’t USAID the same agency that reportedly helped fund coronavirus research in Wuhan? Because if we’re going to talk about reckless decision-making, maybe we should start there.
Meanwhile, Secretary of State Marco Rubio has already put a 90-day pause on all U.S. foreign assistance funded through USAID and the State Department. That means thousands of aid programs worldwide are now on hold, and hundreds of contractors have been laid off. And that, my friends, raises the real question: What exactly was USAID funding that can’t survive a 90-day pause? If an organization grinds to a halt the second American tax dollars stop flowing, maybe—just maybe—it was built on something other than real necessity.
