Governor Responds To Congresswoman’s Statement
It’s hard to keep up with the lows the Democratic Party continues to hit these days, but Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett may have just taken the crown for the most mean-spirited political stunt of the year—maybe the decade. If you missed it, over the weekend Crockett mocked Texas Governor Greg Abbott by referring to him as “Governor Hot Wheels,” a nickname as cruel as it is telling of the state of discourse on the left.
Let’s not gloss over what that means. Abbott was paralyzed from the waist down in his twenties after a freak accident—struck by a falling tree while jogging. He’s spent his life overcoming adversity, raising a family, serving as Attorney General, and now leading the second-largest state in the nation. And this is what he gets? A cheap shot from a sitting member of Congress?
I don’t use this word often, but Jasmine Crockett truly is wicked.
To call Greg Abbott “Governor Hot Wheels” is cruel, contemptible & speaks to your lack of character.

You know it’s bad when even the usually indifferent public reacts with disgust, and this time, they did. The comment didn’t go unnoticed. Abbott, for his part, responded with poise and precision. Appearing on Hannity, the governor didn’t just defend himself—he indicted the entire Democratic strategy: “They have nothing to sell but hate, and Americans are not buying it.” He’s right. The left has abandoned policy for personal attacks, vision for venom.
Crockett, of course, tried to spin the insult. She claimed the reference wasn’t about Abbott’s disability but rather his busing of migrants into Democrat-led cities. But the problem with that excuse? No one’s buying it. Not when the insult is so obviously targeted.
Not when “Hot Wheels” has been used in past posts in contexts that had nothing to do with immigration. And not when the timing and delivery were meant to draw laughs from a partisan crowd.
He's right.

It’s telling that not a single high-profile Democrat has condemned her remarks. Not one. The silence from her colleagues speaks volumes. Imagine the outrage if a Republican had mocked a disabled Democrat in this way—there would be wall-to-wall coverage, press conferences, and social media firestorms. But when it’s one of theirs? Nothing. That’s the double standard we’ve come to expect.
Rep. Randy Weber (R-TX) is already moving to introduce a formal censure against Crockett. And he should. This behavior is not just unbecoming of a member of Congress—it’s a disgrace to the office. Crockett isn’t new to inflammatory comments, either. She’s already gone after other members of Congress with personal, juvenile insults that have no place in hearings or House proceedings.
