Lemon Social Media Post Debated
Folks, if you’re in the mood for a good laugh, you’ll want to hear about what happened with former CNN host Don Lemon at the Democratic National Convention (DNC). It’s a classic case of a prank gone wrong—or maybe right, depending on how you look at it! Here’s the scoop.
So, conservative commentator Matt Walsh, known for stirring the pot, pulled off quite a stunt during the DNC. Walsh showed up at the convention dressed as a “DEI consultant,” which is a nod to a character he plays in his new film, Am I Racist?.
His goal? To prank the convention-goers by handing out flyers and cards that seemed to warn about a conservative initiative called Project2025. Now, here’s the twist: the website listed on those materials didn’t actually lead to anything about Project2025. Instead, it directed users to a trailer for Walsh’s film, ticket sales, and the Daily Wire’s membership page.

Here’s where Don Lemon comes into the story. Despite Walsh openly talking about the prank on social media, Lemon and his team apparently didn’t catch on. They ended up posting a video where Lemon, unknowingly, promoted Walsh’s film by holding up a card with the website that leads straight to the movie’s promotional page. Whoops!
Lemon and his team eventually deleted the video, but the damage—or maybe the boost for Walsh—was already done. Walsh couldn’t resist poking fun at the situation on his podcast, jokingly calling Lemon the film’s “number one spokesman.” He also questioned how Lemon and his crew missed the prank, especially since Walsh had already shared what he was up to online.
Walsh quipped, “Is Lemon in on the joke? Because how else do you explain a supposed journalist airing the footage — that footage — a day after I told everyone on [X] what we did.”
Walsh also pointed out that during Lemon’s coverage, not a single person at the DNC provided a detailed explanation of what Project2025 actually is. Instead, they just vaguely labeled it as “against America” and “dangerous,” which only added to the comedy of the situation.
In case you’re wondering, Am I Racist? is set to premiere in theaters nationwide on September 13. If you’re curious, you can grab tickets at amiracist.com—just like Don Lemon accidentally suggested!
