Newsom's Wife Comments On Trump During Speech
What was supposed to be a polished press event to rally support for Proposition 50 turned into a masterclass in self-ownage — and California First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom walked straight into it.
Standing before cameras to blast President Donald Trump as a "con-artist" and a "malignant narcissist," Newsom’s wife launched into a character assault dripping with moral absolutism. “I will not raise my children to think Donald Trump is an acceptable American leader,” she said, adding that his “terror enables his power” and “greed equals success.”

But what came next wasn’t the applause she was likely expecting — it was a tsunami of inconvenient receipts.
Twitter (or X, if we’re being technical) lit up with users highlighting the blatant hypocrisy in her remarks. One commenter summed it up sharply: “Didn’t Gavin Newsom cheat on his ex-wife with his best friend’s wife? And this woman’s lecturing us on leadership and morality?”
Ouch.
Others reminded the public of Jennifer’s own checkered history, particularly her connection to disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein. RedState’s Jennifer Van Laar pulled no punches, noting that JSN once attempted to pressure Rose McGowan into silence over her Weinstein allegations — and that her brother-in-law works for the very law firm that represented Weinstein. “Sounds to me like JSN knows all about con artists, predators, and malignant narcissists,” Van Laar wrote, “and defends them to her children.”

It didn’t stop there. Flashbacks of the infamous French Laundry scandal flooded in — that cozy, unmasked dinner party the Newsoms attended while California families were locked down under some of the harshest COVID-19 restrictions in the nation. Add to that their decision to send their kids to private schools that stayed open while public schools were forced to shutter, and it becomes painfully clear: the “rules for thee, not for me” crowd is back, and preaching morality.
And let’s not forget what the Prop 50 event was actually about — a Democrat-backed redistricting push to override California’s so-called “independent” redistricting commission. The goal? To fracture Republican-leaning districts and reshape the congressional map to hand more control to Democrats. It’s gerrymandering under the guise of reform, and even longtime political observers are calling foul.

So when Jennifer Siebel Newsom chose that moment to moralize about Trump’s character, the blowback wasn’t just expected — it was inevitable. Her attack lines didn’t just fall flat; they exposed the raw nerve of a political dynasty that's grown far too comfortable operating above the standards it demands of others.
Proposition 50 may yet pass. But if this performance is any indication of the campaign’s credibility, the Newsoms may want to spend less time lecturing and more time listening. Because the people — even in California — are no longer buying the sermon from the mount.
